The Head of Finance, US Oncology Business Unit (US OBU), is a key strategic leader responsible for driving financial planning, performance management, and long-term value creation across US Oncology business. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer of the Global Oncology Business Unit (GOBU), this role serves as a core member of both the US OBU Leadership Team and the GOBU Finance Leadership Team.
This role will shape and execute the financial vision for US OBU, partnering closely with senior cross-functional stakeholders to support decision-making, elevate financial partnerships, and strengthen organizational capabilities. With full oversight of the US OBU P&L and balance sheet, the Head of Finance ensures financial integrity, drives performance measurement through consistent KPI frameworks, and enhances investment discipline across brands and therapeutic areas.
In addition to financial leadership, this role is responsible for leading and mentoring a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence. As a member of the GOBU Finance Leadership Team, the Head of Finance also contributes to broader finance talent development and succession planning.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Lead the development and execution of the US Oncology Business Unit (US OBU) financial strategy, ensuring alignment with Takeda’s global objectives and Oncology BU vision.
- Oversee financial planning cycles including Mid-Range Plan (MRP), Long-Range Forecast (LRF), and Mid-Year Commitment (MYC), in collaboration with Global Oncology Finance and Corporate Finance.
- Drive financial performance through robust P&L and balance sheet oversight, investment prioritization, and profitability optimization across brands and therapeutic areas.
Business Partnership & Decision Support
- Act as a strategic partner to the US OBU Leadership Team, providing data-driven insights, scenario modeling, and ROI analyses to support key business decisions.
- Evaluate and enhance business cases for investments, ensuring financial rigor and execution discipline.
- Establish and monitor KPIs across the business, ensuring consistency and accountability in performance measurement.
Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to finance leaders and team members, ensuring strong succession planning and capability building.
- Contribute to broader organizational development by mentoring cross-functional colleagues and supporting enterprise-wide initiatives.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Communicate financial strategies, risks, and performance to executive leadership and key stakeholders with clarity and influence.
- Represent US OBU Finance in global forums, contributing to the shaping of corporate financial policies and strategic direction.
Financial Governance & Compliance
- Ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance in financial reporting, adhering to internal policies (e.g., T-MAP) and external regulatory standards (e.g., SOX).
- Lead risk management initiatives, including financial risk identification, mitigation strategies, and disclosure processes.
- Coordinate with internal and external audit teams to maintain strong financial controls and compliance posture.
Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred)
- Certified Public Accountant preferred
Experience:
- 12+ years of experience in financial analysis or related fields including financial planning and reporting, forecasting, finance business partnering, gross-to-net analysis, OPEX management, risk management, SOX and compliance experience
- 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
- Experience in oncology or specialty care business planning preferred.
- Experience in US commercial business is preferred.

Boston, MAU.S. Base Salary Range:
$208,200.00 - $327,140.00The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
