Job Description

Job Title: National L&D Manager- Vaccines

Location: India, Mumbai

About the role: 

National L&D Manager, Vaccines is responsible for developing, implementing, managing training programs and on-the-job training for the Vaccine Sales team. This role involves assessing training needs, designing learning journeys, delivering training sessions (selling skills), providing on-the-job training, developing the culture of coaching and feedback, and evaluating training effectiveness. National L&D Manager will collaborate with various departments to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives while staying updated on industry best practices and trends.

How you will contribute: 

Outcomes:

  • A high-performing sales team possessing all required foundational skills, meeting role thresholds.

  • Timely address performance gaps via support of in-field performance and development, coaching, and feedback capabilities development for FLMs.

  • Objective perspective on performance strengths and opportunities of the field force

Key Business Challenges:

  • Leading the vaccine team launch

  • Creating consistency across region, team, and role in competency standards, learning programming, and development planning

  • Establishing “training” and “learning” as credible areas of expertise for skill and performance development

  • Managing change and navigating ambiguity by influencing key decision-makers and stakeholders

Accountabilities:

Training Program Development:

  • Identify training needs based on organizational goals and employee performance assessments.

  • Develop comprehensive, Application and Outcome-oriented training programs tailored to the needs of sales team, including new hires and ongoing development initiatives.

  • Design & Curating learning journeys, materials, and resources, utilizing various learning/ instructional techniques and technologies.

Training Delivery & On the Job Training:

  • Conduct soft skills/ selling skills training sessions for the sales team, utilizing a variety of delivery methods such as On-the-job training, in-person workshops, virtual sessions, and self-paced modules.

  • Ensure training content is engaging, informative, and aligns with adult learning principles.

  • Coaching and mentoring skills to support First line managers and employees during the OJT process and provide constructive feedback.

Training Evaluation:

  • Proactively establish metrics to evaluate the effectiveness & impact of training programs and initiatives on the desired outcomes.

  • Collect feedback from trainees and stakeholders to assess program impact and identify areas for improvement.

  • Analyze training data and metrics to make data-driven program adjustments and enhancements decisions.

Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Collaborate with Business Unit head, Customer Excellence Head, Sales managers, and subject matter experts to align training initiatives with organizational goals and priorities.

  • Coordinate training schedules, logistics, and resources to ensure smooth implementation of programs.

Continuous Learning and Development:

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to field operations and training methodologies.

  • Continuously update training materials and content to reflect changes in policies, procedures, and industry standards.

  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance personal skills and knowledge in training and development.

What you bring to Takeda: 

Education, Experience, Behavioral Competencies And Skills:

  • Must have Bachelor's degree in Education preferably from a science background.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales including 2-3 years in vaccine sales.

  • 2 years of experience as a first-line manager in the Pharmaceutical industry and 3-4 years as a Training Manager for the vaccine team will be preferred.

  • Experience in designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs,

  • Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and inspire diverse audiences.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and Strong analytical skills

  • Certifications in training and development are a plus.
