Job Title: Medical Excellence & Governance Lead
Location: Mumbai, India

About the Role:

The Medical Excellence & Governance Lead will be responsible for coordinating and managing medical-related projects to support the Medical Affairs and Patient Services (MAPS) team in alignment with the MAPS strategy. This role is critical in driving the medical excellence framework, overseeing governance standards, and ensuring the effective execution of key medical affairs initiatives in India.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Alignment: Work closely with the India Medical and PS Head to align and drive overall medical strategic plans. Collaborate effectively with the MAPS team to ensure strategy implementation.

  • Medical Excellence: Lead initiatives that drive medical excellence by utilizing insights, data analysis, and a comprehensive MAPS dashboard. Ensure the integration of digital tools to strengthen the medical capability and external reputation of Takeda.

  • Project Management: Provide project management expertise for MAPS-related initiatives such as evidence generation, publication approaches, and strategic projects. Collaborate with the MAPS team to ensure timely and effective execution.

  • Medical Governance: Lead the development, coordination, and enforcement of appropriate medical governance policies and standards. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and Takeda’s internal policies.

  • Collaboration with Legal & Compliance: Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, and Regulatory teams to implement systems, processes, and training for the MAPS team. Ensure that medical governance, regulatory requirements, and SOPs are adhered to in all relevant activities.

  • Support in Development of Medical & PS Plans: Work closely with the India Medical and PS Head to ensure the development of Medical and PS plans in alignment with strategic objectives.

  • Enhance Digital Adoption: Lead efforts to increase the adoption of digital tools and platforms that strengthen medical excellence and Takeda’s external reputation.

  • Advocacy and Integrity: Uphold Takeda’s values by promoting ethical behavior. Actively contribute to a culture of integrity and accountability within the organization. Raise concerns in good faith when necessary.

Qualification:

  • Educational Background: A medical degree is preferred. Advanced scientific qualifications (PhD, Pharm D, or equivalent) are also acceptable.

Experience:

  • 5-7 years of experience in biopharmaceutical medicine, with a strong background in medical affairs.

  • Proven experience in Medical Governance, Medical Excellence, and Project Management.

  • Experience working in a cross-functional, matrixed environment is highly preferred.
