Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Facilities & Utilities Manager, the Lead Engineering Technician is responsible for:
- Providing leadership and management to the Engineering Technician team for all maintenance activities related to Utilities & Facilities at TILGC.
- Being available for on-call / call-out duties according to a predefined rota, if required.
How You Will Contribute :
- Work flexibly within the Engineering Department and in cooperation with other departments.
- Promote teamwork within the Facilities & Utilities team and across TILGC.
- Perform HR-related responsibilities, including:
- Regular 1:1 meetings with team members.
- Execution of the site performance management program via Workday.
- Time and leave management via TMS.
- Ensure full compliance of team members with EHS procedures and practices.
Maintenance & Operations
- Act as Key Point of Contact (KPOC) for contractors performing equipment maintenance or upgrade works, including permit coordination.
- Ensure that team members and contractors follow procedures for high-risk activities (e.g., Confined Space, LOTO).
- Support prompt reporting of safety events and investigations to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Execute Lock Out Tag Out procedures according to established processes.
- Use CMMS to record maintenance activities in compliance with regulatory and cGMP requirements.
- Manage preventive and corrective work orders using SAP-PM.
- Provide daily maintenance activity reporting at tier meetings, ensuring timely communication of issues.
Technical Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong understanding of site utilities including refrigeration, compressed air, boilers, chillers, VOC system, generators, solvent tank farms, electric boiler, and thermal oxidizer.
- Support continuous improvement within the AGILE program.
- Assist in developing and optimizing maintenance plans for critical site utilities in a cGMP environment.
- Participate in safety and environmental training programs and follow all safe work practices.
- Ensure team compliance with site procedures and policies.
- Participate in and support cross-functional training initiatives.
- Develop and nurture strong working relationships with all internal stakeholders.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate fully in cross-functional training initiatives.
- Promote the corporate values of Takeda-ism within the workplace.
- Foster a safety-focused culture across the site.
- Ensure timely reporting of accidents and near misses in Beacon.
- Complete all SOP reading, training, and assessments within required timelines.
- Support identification of value-capture opportunities to improve department efficiency.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Manager or designated Officer.
What You Bring to Takeda :
- Trade qualification.
- Minimum: Electrical or Fitter apprenticeship with at least 5 years of experience in a similar industry.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or similar industry post-qualification.
- Proven ability to manage a small team and collaborate across functional areas.
- Experience operating and/or maintaining utility systems.
- Contractor management experience is an advantage.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

- Interest in continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with SAP-PM is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
