Job Description
Role Summary:
The Head of Global Medical Evidence Generation will define and execute the vision for an Integrated Evidence Generation Center of Excellence (COE) for the entire Takeda enterprise. This role ensures that evidence strategies directly support regulatory submissions, health technology assessments (HTAs), and market access decisions, driving improved patient outcomes and business impact.
- Develops an overarching vision and implementation plan for an Integrated Evidence Generation Center of Excellence (COE) with the goal of optimizing evidence generation for prioritized Takeda assets in an evolving value-based healthcare environment.
- Partners across all relevant internal functions (Access, Medical, Clinical Development/Sciences, Statistical & Quantitative Sciences), Global Program Teams, Business Units and external partners to develop aligned and integrated evidence generation activities.
- Drives evidence strategies that directly support regulatory submissions, HTA requirements, and market access decisions.
- Champions the integration of AI-driven analytics and real-world data platforms to enhance evidence quality and speed.
- Fosters a culture of innovation, scientific rigor, and compliance across all activities.
- Leads all operational aspects of evidence generation, including the review and approval process for studies executed though the integrated evidence generation COE and systems related to Evidence Generation.
- Leads processes, systems and activities related to data curation and generation from a variety of internal and external sources and working with Data Sciences to ensure data are centrally maintained, managed and available for various stakeholders to access seamlessly in real-time.
- Provides strategic leadership and scientific input to evidence generation activities and sets standards for utilization of data.
How the job will contribute:
- Sets the overarching vision and implementation plan for a center of excellence for pre- and post-registration research for the entire Takeda enterprise.
- Leads evidence generation strategies across the enterprise to identify research gaps and develop aligned tactical plans to address these gaps.
- Ensures timely delivery of integrated evidence plans, reduction in study cycle times, and improved stakeholder satisfaction.
- Responsible for the successful integration of advanced analytics and digital tools.
- Leads all operational aspects of evidence generation, including the review and approval process including systems related to Evidence Generation.
- Establishes scalable governance models, operating standards, and prioritization frameworks for global evidence investments
- Establishes processes to support:
- Cross-functional collaboration to define global evidentiary needs of key stakeholders (Regulatory bodies, HCPs, Patients/caregivers, Payers, HTA bodies, IDNs) to serve the evolving healthcare environment
- Collaborative strategic planning and mapping of evidence generation activities with key internal stakeholders to develop aligned and integrated generation strategies and plans
- Enhanced collaboration amongst Takeda functions through sharing of data and transparency
- Leads processes, systems and activities related to data curation and generation from a variety of internal and external sources and working with Data Sciences to ensure data are centrally maintained, managed and available for various stakeholders to access seamlessly in real-time.
- Builds, leads, and inspires a high-performing, globally distributed organization of Evidence Generation professionals.
- Supports building internal and external networks to identify and secure new data sources and partnership opportunities in order to maximize evidence generation.
- Ensures robust statistical and data management capabilities to support internal/external database analyses and collaborative research.
- Provides innovative thinking and study design/scientific expertise into clinical research programs and real-world evidence strategies.
- Ensures Takeda evidence generation capabilities are state-of-the-art and align with Takeda priorities and are applied to all evidence generation activities undertaken at Takeda.
- Ensures best practices are maintained across evidence generation and integration activities across Therapeutic Areas (TA)s.
- Provides strategic leadership and scientific input to evidence generation activities and sets standards for utilization of data.
- Partners with the Data Sciences organization to develop methodologies and tools to provide relevant scientific insights with greater accuracy and speed.
- Engages as a research functional expert on various cross-functional leadership teams.
Expected skills
- Advanced degree, such as MD, PhD, PharmD, master’s.
- 15+ years combined experience in pharmaceutical industry, and academic research, or healthcare management.
- Extensive experience in evidence generation, medical affairs, and/or HEOR.
- Proven leadership in global, cross-functional environments.
- Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Expertise in leveraging real-world data and advanced analytics.
- Leadership & Influence: Strong at leading large, global teams and influencing internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Leads as a global enterprise leader first and functional expert second

- Demonstrates a firm grasp of industry, scientific, and regulatory trends; understands market conditions; and develops strategies to continuously evolve medical capabilities
- Understands and delivers critical capabilities of a modern global specialty medicine medical affairs organization: clinical research, evidence generation, value demonstration, medical communication, medical information, publication activities, congress presentations, interaction with Medical Science Liaison networks, compliance, and public speaking.
- Solid familiarity with the entire commercialization process and the marketplace dynamics that impact organizational decisions and deliverables.
- Proven track record of leading and driving business process transformation and organizational culture change, as well as delivering on programs with complex business deliverables
- Track record of successful leadership, management, and development of large, multi-disciplinary globally dispersed teams.
- Experience in talent development and building new teams with the ability to make tough talent decisions.
- Healthcare business acumen with a comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry

$352,800.00 - $485,100.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
