About the Role
This role supports the TA Head in translating the global medical strategy into effective IMM medical education program execution across the IBU and Local Operating Companies (LOCs) for all IMM indications. The IMM Lead acts as a key driver and execution partner, ensuring alignment, coordination, and delivery of medical plans, programs, events, and scientific resources for assigned IMM therapeutic areas and products.
How you will contribute:
Strategy Translation & Execution
Contributes to Global and IBU LOC TA Medical Communication strategy and plans through scientific expertise, understanding of clinical and industry landscape, and understanding of appropriate (innovative) channels for delivery of medical and scientific content.
In partnership with GMA, leads the IBU strategy for Tier-1 congress deliverables & key activities, including medical booth and satellite symposia
Lead prioritized strategy and support deliverables for Tier-1 and Tier 2 congresses including booth assets and activities in IBU
Provides input and helps the development and implementation of innovative / digital communication formats and channels in collaboration with DDT
In partnership with GMA & IBU TA leads, drives scientific content development for IBU regional advisory boards
Ensure appropriate prioritization of needs and resource allocation to meet program goals on-time and within budget.
Manage project-associated budgets and vendors together with Medical Operations team
Scientific Leadership & KOL Engagement
Own and lead IBU IMM Medical Education strategy execution for assigned TA/products, building strong scientific relationships and medical community
Executes the IBU medical education events, including speaker/faculty selection, invitee selection, on-site execution, and impact measurement / metrics / insights.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Drive cross-functional alignment and coordination of medical programs to support launch readiness and execution across assigned TA/products
Reviews and provides input on Global Medical Scientific Comms Content (sci/med comms and publications), as applicable
In partnership with the GMA and IBU Lead team, leads the IBU strategy for congress deliverables, tactics, and activities, including booth presence, booth content creation, medical symposium planning and execution, field medical training, and development of engagement tactics for the target audience.
LOC Enablement & Alignment
Enable LOC medical teams to effectively utilize and localize medical education content by providing clear guidance, alignment, and coordinated support
Act as a key interface across LOCs, IBU, and Global, ensuring timely flow of insights and alignment of priorities
Budget & Resource Management
Manage budget and resources for assigned TA/products, ensuring disciplined and effective utilisation aligned with agreed priorities and governance frameworks together with Medical Operations team
Provide visibility and tracking of spend related to assigned activities, supporting informed decision-making by the TA Head
Skills
Therapeutic Area & Scientific Expertise: Prior experience in Medical Affairs, Scientific Communications, External Scientific Relations, or Clinical Development within the biopharmaceutical industry, and/or clinical or research experience in immunology (Derm, Rheum, Gastro & Nephrology)
Strategy Translation & Execution: Proven ability to translate global medical strategies into aligned execution across IBU and LOCs for assigned TA/products
Digital Engagement: Drives and leads the development and implementation of innovative/digital communication formats and channels to enhance scientific exchange with external stakeholders
Cross functional / Matrix Collaboration: Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment across Global, IBU, and LOCs, ensuring alignment and coordination across stakeholders. Demonstrated track record of strategic execution in a matrix environment with limited supervision
Launch Execution & Field Enablement: Experience supporting launch readiness and enabling consistent field execution across markets. Prior experience leading projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
Communication & Coordination: Strong communication and organisational skills, with ability to manage multiple stakeholders anddrive clarity and timely execution. Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, organizational, time management, and project planning skills with strong ability for self-direction
Aptitude in writing, reviewing, and presenting scientific and clinical data for external scientific audiences
Operational & Financial Management: Experience managing budgets and resources for assigned activities, ensuring effective utilisation aligned with defined priorities
Qualifications
Advanced scientific degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, MSc or equivalent).
Typically < 5+ > years experience in Medical Affairs and/or clinical development in pharma/biotech, specific to Immunology (Derm, Rheum, Gastro & Neph)
Prior regional or global experience preferred
