As a company we offer roles based on merit, welcoming candidates of any gender, age, religious belief, sexual orientation, race, color, ethnic or social origin, or disability.

Our team is growing and for this we need bright minds with creativity and flexibility – what talent do you have?

About the Role

As Global Medical Excellence Lead for Central Europe, you will act as the connection between global strategy and local execution, helping Medical Affairs teams deliver greater impact. Embedded within the Central Europe cluster, you will partner closely with senior medical leaders to strengthen capabilities, enhance field medical effectiveness, support launch readiness, and drive a culture of excellence across the organisation.

This highly collaborative role offers the opportunity to influence how Medical Affairs teams develop, engage with stakeholders, and prepare for future growth. You will bring local insights into global programmes while ensuring global best practices are effectively implemented across the cluster.

How You Will Contribute

  • Partner with Cluster Medical leadership to implement Medical Excellence strategies, frameworks, and capability initiatives that address local business needs.

  • Assess organisational and field medical capabilities, identify development opportunities, and help shape future capability-building programmes.

  • Lead onboarding programmes for new Medical Affairs colleagues, delivering a consistent and engaging experience aligned with global standards.

  • Drive field medical excellence by supporting capability development, performance measurement, certification, and scientific engagement quality.

  • Monitor field medical effectiveness through defined metrics, identify capability gaps, and implement improvement plans in collaboration with key stakeholders.

  • Oversee field medical certification processes and ensure readiness of Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) before and after deployment.

  • Support launch readiness by ensuring Medical teams have the required knowledge, capabilities, and training ahead of key product launches.

  • Collaborate with Medical, Commercial, Scientific Training, and Operations teams to align priorities and maximise organisational impact.

  • Contribute to governance and compliance activities by providing practical market insights and supporting compliant ways of working.

  • Represent the Central Europe cluster within the global Medical Excellence community, sharing best practices and influencing future programmes.

What You Bring to Takeda

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific, healthcare, life sciences, pharmacy, or medical discipline; advanced degree (MD, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent) preferred.

  • 8+ years of experience within the biopharmaceutical industry, including substantial experience in Medical Affairs.

  • Experience within field medical roles (such as MSL) and a strong understanding of field medical excellence, capability development, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Proven experience in Medical Excellence, medical education, learning and development, or capability-building programmes.

  • Knowledge of Medical Affairs operations, launch readiness, performance measurement, certification processes, and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Experience working across local, regional, and global organisations within a complex matrix environment.

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility and trusted partnerships across senior leadership teams.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and translate strategy into practical execution.

  • Enterprise mindset with strong commercial awareness and an understanding of the Medical Affairs–Commercial interface.
