Job Description
TheFinancial Reporting Specialistis responsible for supporting key financial accounting activities, including recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, managing cost accounting, and assisting with budgeting processes.
Through accurate financial reporting and strong compliance with accounting standards, this role helps support Takeda’s mission and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support month-end close activities in General Ledger and Group Reporting, ensuring delivery in line with the close calendar and SLA.
- Manage entity reporting activities, including Notes and Disclosures coordination and sales reporting.
- Prepare and submit financial statement reporting in Hyperion/HFM.
- Execute and document SOX/Internal Controls for GL and Group Reporting processes, and support control testing and remediation of findings.
- Perform balance sheet and P&L analysis before close to help ensure the quality of results.
- Prepare, post, and approve manual journal entries, including complex journal entries.
- Provide oversight during month-end close to ensure deadlines, controls, and deliverables are met.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts using supporting documentation and investigate any variances.
- Conduct periodic balance sheet reviews with the business to validate balances, resolve open items, and agree on action plans.
- Assess accounting treatment for non-standard or complex transactions in line with IFRS and Group policies.
- Support the implementation of new IFRS requirements and updated Group Accounting Policies.
- Prepare and post Local GAAP adjustments, where applicable.
- Support statutory financial statement processes and act as a point of contact for Statutory Financial Statement teams.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors as needed.
- Deliver non-standard reporting activities, such as export/NPP programs and statistical reporting.
- Coordinate accounting and reporting projects and contribute to process improvements.
- Build a digital mindset by using available systems and tools effectively and identifying simple improvements within the R2R scope.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial logic.
- At least 2 years of experience in Record to Report, ideally with exposure to Inventory, Intercompany, and General Ledger.
- Experience in a BPO or Shared Services environment is an advantage.
- Knowledge of SAP, Excel, Hyperion, and reporting tools.
- Good command of Business English.
- Strong analytical thinking, ownership, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

- A digital mindset and openness to continuous improvement.
- Ability to work occasional afternoon hours, up to 5 days per month, based on business needs.
Preferred skills
- ACCA or a similar accounting qualification is an advantage.
- Knowledge of IFRS is preferred.
- Experience withBlackLineis a plus.
- Experience with macros, VBA, Power BI, Power Automate, or RPA is a plus.
