Role Overview:
As the Medical Advisor in Oncology, you will be responsible for developing and managing the medical strategy for specific therapeutic areas and integrating this strategy into the brand plans. You will serve as an in-house scientific expert, fostering relationships with key external stakeholders, and contributing to the creation of medical plans that enhance patient access and care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and establish partnerships with professional societies and NGOs.
- Deliver medical and scientific messages related to product data and disease management.
- Support clinical trial opportunities and drive Real World Evidence (RWE) data generation.
- Develop and implement therapeutic area-specific medical plans and scientific engagement strategies.
- Respond to medical information requests and review promotional materials as per Takeda policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve brand objectives at local and regional levels.
- Comply with global and local regulations, prioritizing patient safety and upholding Takeda’s reputation.
Qualifications:
- Advanced scientific or clinical degree preferred (e.g., MBChB, Master’s in Life Sciences, PharmD, or Ph.D.).
- Preferably 4+ years of oncology experience with established market relationships.
- Experience in driving and managing medical strategy in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to integrate scientific knowledge to build healthcare capabilities.
- Proficiency in utilizing AI-driven tools and digital platforms for stakeholder engagement and data analytics.
Additional Information:
- Valid South African Driver’s license and own vehicle required for business travel.
- Role involves 50% fieldwork and 50% office-based activities, including local and some international travel.
