Job Description

ROLE PURPOSE

As Market Access Manager, you will be responsible for enabling access across the company’s portfolio by developing and implementing market access strategies that address pricing, reimbursement, funding pathways, policy shaping, and stakeholder engagement. The role will support portfolio-wide access objectives across relevant therapeutic areas, with a specific focus on public accounts, national and sub-national health authorities, public procurement bodies, and public health programs. Your work will help ensure timely, sustainable, and equitable access to medicines and vaccines by aligning evidence, value communication, and partnership strategies with public-sector priorities and patient needs.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Portfolio Market Access Strategy: Develop and execute integrated market access strategies across the portfolio, ensuring each product has a clear access pathway that reflects its value proposition, patient need, public health relevance, affordability considerations, and local healthcare system dynamics. Evidence Generation and Value Demonstration: Collaborate with medical, HEOR, policy, and cross-functional teams to generate and translate evidence that demonstrates clinical, economic, budgetary, and public health value across the portfolio, supporting access discussions with public stakeholders and payers. Pricing, Reimbursement, and Funding Pathways: Support pricing and reimbursement strategies by analyzing market dynamics, public funding mechanisms, procurement models, affordability barriers, and competitor benchmarks, while ensuring alignment with portfolio value, patient access objectives, and compliance requirements. Public Account Engagement: Build and maintain strategic relationships with public accounts, including government health authorities, public payers, national and sub-national institutions, procurement agencies, public hospitals, and public health program stakeholders, to understand priorities and shape sustainable access solutions. Value Communication: Communicate product and portfolio value propositions to policymakers, public payers, procurement stakeholders, healthcare providers, and internal teams, clearly articulating clinical value, public health impact, economic considerations, and relevance to public-sector priorities. Public Market Intelligence: Monitor healthcare policy, public funding priorities, reimbursement trends, procurement processes, tender opportunities, competitor activity, and stakeholder dynamics to identify access opportunities, risks, and implications for the portfolio. Access Planning and Execution: Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate market access considerations into brand planning, launch planning, lifecycle management, reimbursement planning, public account plans, and private-channel access initiatives, ensuring timely execution of activities that support access across the portfolio. Compliance and Governance: Ensure all market access and public account activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, and ethical standards, maintaining transparency and integrity in all interactions with external stakeholders.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Market access initiatives require close collaboration with commercial, medical, regulatory, policy, legal, compliance, supply, and finance teams. The Market Access Manager should foster alignment across functions to support portfolio planning, public account execution, and sustainable access outcomes.

Adaptability: The healthcare landscape and regulatory environment can be dynamic and unpredictable. Effective leaders in market access must be adaptable to changes, able to navigate challenges, and pivot strategies as needed to achieve objectives.

Data-Driven Decision Making: A successful Market Access Manager relies on data-driven insights to support their decisions. This includes analyzing health economic data, market trends, competitor analysis, and real-world evidence to shape pricing and access strategies.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Health Economics, Public Health, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.

  • Proven experience in market access, pricing, reimbursement, public policy, public account management, or health economics within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, vaccine, or healthcare industry, with the ability to support access across a broad portfolio.

  • Strong understanding of healthcare systems, public reimbursement mechanisms, public procurement processes, health policy, funding pathways, and public-sector decision-making dynamics.

  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing market access strategies, public account plans, policy-shaping initiatives, or access solutions that improve patient access and support business objectives.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills to engage effectively with government officials, public payers, procurement stakeholders, healthcare institutions, policymakers, and key opinion leaders.

  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in interpreting health economic data and evidence to inform market access decisions.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

  • Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally as required.
