Job Description

OBJECTIVE:

TheDirector,US Field MedicalReadiness & Enablement will serve as a key member of the US Field Medical leadership team, playinga critical role in driving the success of US Field Medical and ensuring the highest standards of scientific engagement and medical impact with healthcare professionals.This individual willelevatedepartmental capabilities through development and execution of US Field Medical department-wide programs and initiatives in collaboration with US Field Medical leaders and other internal stakeholders.Additionally, this individual will foster a culture of high performance, continuousimprovementand innovation, while ensuring operational excellence and impact aligned to US Medical strategies and priorities.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Onboarding/Training/Development

  • In collaboration with US Field Medical leaders and other US Medical stakeholders,developand implement US Field Medical departmental standards and processes for onboarding, training, and competency assessment.

  • Design and deliver comprehensive core skills and competencies training programs to ensureUS Field Medicalis equipped to optimally engage external stakeholders.

  • In collaboration with HR, design and deliver comprehensive skills and competencies training programs to ensure US Field Medical people leaders are optimally leading their teams and serving as valued partners to internal stakeholders (e.g., coaching, executive presence, influence, working in matrix).

Innovation

  • Maintain involvement in industry associationsand meetingstoidentifyandmonitorexternal field medical and medical engagement innovationtrendsand opportunities.

  • Routinely conductexternalbenchmarking ofUS FieldMedicaldepartmentalperformanceand leverage to seek areas for improvement and enhancement.

  • In partnership withUS Field Medicalleadersand other internal stakeholders,developand overseeUS FieldMedical launchexcellenceframeworkand processesto ensureoptimalreadiness forand execution ofproduct launches.

  • In partnership with US Field Medical leadersand other internal stakeholders, develop and oversee US Field Medical research supportframeworkand processes to ensure effective and compliantcontributionto Takeda-sponsored research.

Operations/Digital Tools andSystems/Internal Communications

  • Provide oversight of US Field Medical KOL/HCP engagementmonitoringframework and process in collaboration with US Field Medical leaders, Legal, and Ethics and Compliance.

  • With US Field Medical leaders, oversee US Field Medical department annual external engagement planning and approval process (e.g., team tactical plans, individual territory plans).

  • Support development andimplementation ofUS Field MedicalSOPs and guidance in close collaboration withUS Field Medical leaders andgovernance partners.

  • In partnership with US Medical internal stakeholders,optimizeUS Field Medical adoption of data analytics and digital tools/systems, including AI,to enhance data-driven planning,execution, andimpactfulreporting.

  • Evolve and advance field medical insights capabilities to ensure effective and streamlined capture, translation, and internal communication of high-quality insights to inform medical strategies and tactics. 

  • Communicate US Field Medical CRM system enhancement needs and requirements to appropriate internal stakeholders and collaborate on implementation.

  • In partnership with US Field Medical leaders, develop andmaintainoptimized department-wide communications plan and reporting templates/dashboard for sharing US Field Medical activity metrics, impact and outcome performance measures, and insights with internal stakeholders.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Required:

  • Doctoraldegree in life/health sciences is preferred (PharmD, MD, PhD, or equivalent).Master’sdegree in health sciences (e.g., MSN, NP, or PA) is theminimumrequirement.

  • Thorough understanding of andat least5years ofexperience working in the pharmaceutical industryMedical Affairsand Field Medicalexperiencestronglypreferred.

  • Proven record of strategicand analytical thinking,innovation,projectleadership,and change implementation.

  • Proven record ofteamwork,collaboration, and influencing/working in a matrix environment toaccomplishgoalsandobjectives.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage, lead and mentor individuals and/orteams.

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal)andorganizationskills.

  • Exhibits executive presence and ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.

  • Proficiencyand experience with technology,analytics,and ability to communicate data effectively.

  • Skilled in use of digital tools, including AI, to enhanceproductivity and improve efficiency.

  • Experience withdesign and implementation of skills and competencies trainingprograms.

  • Experience managing vendors to ensure work is delivered on time and on budget.

  • Demonstrated understanding of compliance, ethical, legal, and regulatory guidelinesimpactingthe pharmaceutical industry,Medical Affairs, and Field Medical.

Massachusetts - Virtual

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$192,400.00 - $302,390.00


The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location. 

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
