About the role:

As a Senior Data Visualization Developer, you will play a key role in advancing enterprise Data Visualization initiatives by transforming high-quality datasets into intuitive, user-friendly dashboards that address critical business needs and enable informed decision-making across the organization. This role requires close partnership with Business Units, Product Owner, Business Analysts and Data Engineering teams to interpret visualization requirements and contribute to the evolution of data reporting & unlocking business intelligence across all PDT products.

As the Senior Data Visualization Developer, you will work on large complex data sets to develop user tools, dashboards, and automatic report generation tools associated with product and solution performance, business operations, and data-driven decision-making. You will collaborate with Business Analysts jointly lead working sessions and discussions with business users, clearly articulate insights, design choices, and trade-offs, and guide business partners toward actionable, outcome-focused decisions. Understand the business requirements and support team members in refining and validating in-depth quantitative analysis to produce clear, detailed visualizations and facilitate informed decision-making.

Your position will align to the Data chapter of the ICC and report to the Data Visualization Lead under PDT Business Intelligence Pod. 

How you will contribute:

• Lead the end-to-end execution of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for data visualization and BI solutions, including requirements technical translation, solution design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and continuous optimization.

• Develop and implement advanced data visualization and Business Intelligence solutions using Power BI aligned to evolving business stakeholder needs.

• Collaborate with Business Analysts and technical leads to convert business requirements into detailed technical specifications, scalable data models, and user-centric dashboards.

• Design complex, high-performance visualizations integrating multiple large-scale and disparate data sources while ensuring optimal performance and usability.

• Apply strong data engineering and querying expertise (SQL, DAX, Python) to ensure accurate data retrieval, transformation, and analytical readiness.

• Apply best practices in data modelling, architecture, and enterprise-scale solution design, ensuring reusability, stability, and operational efficiency.

• Incorporate AI-driven and advanced analytical techniques within Business Intelligence to uncover patterns, generate insights, and enhance decision-making across large and complex datasets.

• Conduct comprehensive pre-production validation, including unit testing, data reconciliation with source systems, and functional verification of critical report features.

• Monitor, analyse, and continuously optimize BI performance, including datasets, queries, big-data pipelines, and visualization responsiveness.

• Demonstrate an action-oriented mindset in root-cause analysis, problem solving, and measurable value realization from analytics solutions.

• Enable seamless integration of structured and unstructured data sources, leveraging modern data integration and interoperability techniques.

• Govern release readiness and deployment compliance, ensuring completion of change requests, documentation, process flows, and UAT approvals.

• Drive innovation in AI-enabled Business Intelligence, digital user experience, and next-generation visualization capabilities.

• Engage cross-functionally with ETL, Data Engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure holistic, insight-driven solution delivery.

• Lead stakeholder communication, insight storytelling, and executive-ready reporting for diverse business audiences.

• Strengthen data-driven prioritization, resource planning, delegation, and conflict resolution across BI initiatives.

• Foster a culture of continuous learning, reuse, governance, and ethical handling of sensitive data aligned with enterprise standards.

• Maintain awareness of emerging BI, AI, and visualization technologies, ensuring adoption of industry best practices.

• Provide technical guidance, mentorship to junior developers, and establish best practices for data governance, report design, ensure performance, security, and scalability.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts and data insights to technical and non-technical audiences.

• Raise timely concerns or blockers to leads and product owner.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.

• 7+ years of experience as a Data Visualization or Power BI Developer (or similar role), supported by a strong portfolio of delivered dashboards and BI solutions.

• Proven expertise in designing, refining, developing, and testing reports aligned to business and stakeholder requirements.

• Deep understanding of data modelling principles, with the ability to architect scalable and high-performance models supporting advanced visualization and analytics.

• Hands-on experience with:

  • Power BI, including advanced visualization, performance optimization, and governance

  • Relational SQL databases and complex query optimization

  • Databricks / ETL pipelines for data preparation and transformation

  • Power BI Copilot / AI-assisted BI capabilities to enhance analytics and insight generation

• Strong ability to analyse large, complex datasets, perform data manipulation, and extract meaningful, decision-driven insights.

• Excellent written and verbal communication, including executive storytelling, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional collaboration.

•  Demonstrated ability to lead stakeholder meetings independently, present insights with confidence, manage ambiguity, and influence decision-making across technical and non-technical audiences.

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage parallel initiatives and deliver high-quality outcomes in Agile environments.

• Demonstrated capability to translate ambiguous business problems into scalable BI and visualization solutions.

• Highly self-motivated and execution-focused, with the ability to work independently while collaborating across distributed teams.

• Experience working within a global or matrixed enterprise environment.

Preferred requirements:

• Strong understanding of data warehousing architecture, data integration frameworks, and modern analytics ecosystems.

• Experience with data engineering and analytics programming languages such as Python (and exposure to tools like Qlik or similar platforms).

• Domain knowledge in Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, or Life Sciences industries, including regulated data and compliance considerations.
