Job Description
OBJECTIVES / PURPOSE
We are seeking a strong Senior Analyst to serve as a hands-on contributor across Tableau dashboarding and commercial analytics within Takeda's GCC Commercial Insights & Analytics (I&A) organization in India. This role carries significant individual analytical ownership — building enterprise-grade reporting and dashboards in Tableau while independently delivering mid-to-high complexity commercial analytics workstreams that inform global brand strategy. The Senior Analyst is a critical analytical contributor who drives the quality and depth of insights delivered to global brand teams and begins to shape the analytical direction of assigned workstreams.
- Own and independently deliver a portfolio of reporting and dashboard products in Tableau, and serve as a go-to resource for visual analytics across assigned brands and indications.
- Independently deliver mid-to-high complexity commercial analytics workstreams — patient journey analyses, HCP segmentation, performance deep-dives, and competitive assessments — that provide actionable, evidence-based recommendations to global I&A brand leads and commercial partners.
- Serve as an emerging analytical thought leader within the GCC team — contributing to methodology development, analytical best practices, and the informal mentoring of Analyst colleagues.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Reporting & Dashboarding Excellence — Tableau
- Design, build, and maintain Tableau dashboards that communicate brand performance, patient journey dynamics, HCP engagement, and field force activity to global stakeholders.
- Apply strong Tableau capabilities — LOD expressions, parameters and actions, table calculations, and Tableau Server/Cloud publishing — and follow data visualization best practices and design standards (layout, color, accessibility, interactivity, storytelling).
- Establish and monitor KPIs and metrics — patient shares, new starts, duration of therapy (DoT), adherence, source of business, and campaign effectiveness — across global markets, regions, and channels.
- Maintain data models, extracts, and refresh pipelines feeding dashboards to ensure accuracy, reliability, and performance.
Commercial Analytics & Insight Generation
- Own end-to-end delivery of assigned performance analytics workstreams that track brand KPIs across global, regional, and country levels.
- Integrate and analyze diverse commercial data sources across markets — real-world data (claims, EMR/EHR, lab data), specialty pharmacy, sales, and channel data — to generate comprehensive patient and HCP insights that support brand strategy and launch readiness.
- Develop and maintain business rules for processing raw patient-level data, leveraging a strong understanding of data nuances, commercial context, and market knowledge to ensure analytical accuracy and consistency.
- Conduct advanced, self-directed exploratory data analysis (EDA) and opportunity prospecting — moving beyond basic pulls (counts, topline, segmentation, time trends) to surface non-obvious commercial opportunities and hypotheses.
- Lead custom reporting and complex ad hoc analysis requests with independent hypothesis formulation, rigorous methodology, and well-documented, insight-rich outputs.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Mentorship
- Partner with GCC Managers and global I&A brand leads to clarify requirements, align on scope, and synthesize findings into decision-oriented visual stories with clear “so what” recommendations.
- Provide informal mentoring and quality guidance to Analyst colleagues, and contribute to team knowledge management (visualization standards, design patterns, reusable templates and query libraries).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree required in Statistics, Data Science, Life Sciences, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field; Master's degree or MBA strongly preferred.
Experience:
- 4–5 years of experience in pharmaceutical commercial analytics or healthcare analytics, with demonstrated independent ownership of both analytics deliverables and reporting/dashboard development.
- Strong, hands-on Tableau experience building and maintaining dashboards is required; exposure to Tableau Server/Cloud publishing is preferred and Tableau certification is a plus. Working knowledge of Power BI is a plus.
- Deep working knowledge of pharma commercial datasets across markets: patient-level claims (e.g., IQVIA, Komodo Health, Symphony Health), specialty pharmacy, EMR, and sales data is required.
- Hands-on experience with data beyond claims is strongly preferred — lab data, EMR/EHR, medical and regulatory coding systems (e.g., ICD, procedure/reimbursement codes), public datasets, and research literature (Citeline, PubMed).
- Proficiency in coding techniques such as SQL, SAS, R, or Python for data manipulation and workflow automation; advanced Excel required. Familiarity with API programming and GenAI (e.g., Claude Code) as a coding partner; working knowledge of Databricks or cloud platforms preferred.
- Experience supporting global or regional brand teams or cross-functional analytics programs is strongly preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Tableau Development & Reporting — Strong Tableau design and development following visualization and self-service reporting best practices.
- Data Visualization & Storytelling — Applies visualization and storytelling principles — layout, color, accessibility, and interactivity — to build intuitive, decision-ready products.
- Advanced Commercial Data Analysis — Independently designs and executes complex analyses on multi-source, multi-market pharma datasets; advances from basic pulls to self-directed EDA and prospecting.
- Stakeholder Communication — Communicates analytical findings persuasively to global I&A leads; adapts framing to technical and commercial audiences.
- Informal Mentorship — Provides practical guidance to junior analysts on analytical techniques, data interpretation, and quality standards.
Intangible Skills:
- Curiosity · Confidence · Reflective · High risk tolerance · Organized · High command of written and spoken English fluency.

- Collaborate Cross-Functionally — Contribute positively to GCC and global team workflows and cross-functional collaboration.
- Drive Accountability — Take ownership of all assigned tasks and deliver on commitments.
- Embrace Learning — Continuously build analytical and domain capabilities through feedback and self-driven development.
