Job Description

OBJECTIVES / PURPOSE

We are seeking a dynamic Manager to join Takeda’s GCC Commercial Analytics & Insights (CA&I) organization in India as part of the Incentive Compensation capability supporting International Business Units (IBU). This first people leadership role combines hands-on incentive compensation expertise with team management, stakeholder partnership, and operational accountability for IC workstreams — plan design support, goal setting, payout administration, and field performance reporting — alongside contributions to brand analytics deliverables that inform field force effectiveness across Ex-US markets. The Manager is accountable for the accuracy, fairness, timeliness, and business relevance of IC and brand analytics deliverables produced by their pod.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

IC Delivery and Quality Ownership

  • Oversee end-to-end delivery of assigned IC cycles across IBU markets, including eligibility management, goal setting, quota allocation, payout calculations, adjustments, leaderboards, IC statement generation, and field performance reporting.
  • Define IC approaches for complex plan design and field effectiveness questions by translating stakeholder asks into scoped workplans and assigning tasks based on skill, priority, and capacity.
  • Review IC plan designs, calculations, payout outputs, dashboards, and presentation materials for analytical rigor, internal consistency, audit-readiness, and stakeholder readiness before distribution to affiliate and global stakeholders.
  • Lead IC plan design support and methodology refinement in partnership with affiliate sales operations leads, running plan simulations, payout curve analyses, pay-mix diagnostics, and historical scenario modeling to inform decisions.
  • Conduct and oversee IC effectiveness analyses, including payout distribution analyses, top/bottom rep performance reviews, and recommendations to improve plan design and execution.

Brand Analytics Oversight

  • Oversee brand analytics deliverables produced by the pod that complement IC workstreams — including field performance reporting, targeting and segmentation refresh, call planning analytics, and brand performance diagnostics — across assigned IBU markets and brands.
  • Ensure brand analytics outputs are connected to IC and field force decisions, reflecting local commercial dynamics, payer environments, and field force structures across EU, Asia, and LatAm.

Stakeholder Management and Ways of Working

  • Serve as the primary GCC point of contact for assigned EU, Asian, and LatAm affiliates and Global IBU stakeholders on IC and brand analytics matters, clarifying requirements, setting delivery commitments, communicating risks, and ensuring alignment to IC and field force cycles.
  • Represent the GCC IC pod in IC governance, plan rollout, brand planning, and cross-functional forums with commercial analytics, finance, marketing, sales operations, market access, and global partners.
  • Establish efficient ways of working between the GCC pod and IBU affiliate teams, including intake routines, IC cycle calendars, data cuts, approval workflows, dispute and adjustment processes, and quality review expectations across multiple geographies and time zones.

People Leadership and Team Development

  • Directly manage 2–4 Analysts and Senior Analysts across IC and brand analytics sub-capabilities, setting clear goals, conducting regular one-on-ones, providing performance feedback, and building individualized development plans.
  • Build IC and brand analytics capabilities within the team through coaching on IC plan mechanics, goal setting methodologies, payout curve design, territory alignment analytics, targeting and segmentation, and business storytelling.
  • Foster a high-engagement team environment defined by ownership, intellectual curiosity, cross-functional collaboration, and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Contribute to talent acquisition and onboarding for the GCC IBU analytics team, helping establish consistent expectations and development pathways for IC and brand analytics talent.

Process Improvement and Operational Excellence

  • Lead automation and efficiency initiatives across recurring IC and brand analytics workflows, using AI and GenAI tools and modern data engineering practices.
  • Review and rationalize the IC reporting, brand analytics reporting, and rule library portfolio on a regular basis, identifying opportunities to standardize, automate, or enhance deliverables as IBU priorities evolve.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Life Sciences, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Advanced degree (Master’s or MBA) in Analytics, Economics, Data Science, Business, or a related quantitative field is strongly preferred.
  • Relevant certifications in analytics, sales operations, cloud platforms, or project management are a plus.

Experience:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical incentive compensation, commercial analytics, sales operations, or related quantitative areas, with early people or project leadership experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on incentive compensation experience covering plan design support, goal setting, quota allocation, payout calculations, adjustments, and field performance reporting. At least 1–2 years of brand analytics experience covering field performance reporting, targeting and segmentation, call planning analytics, or brand performance diagnostics is strongly preferred; IC and brand analytics experience may overlap.
  • Mandatory experience supporting EU or US markets (e.g., EU4, UK, Nordics, or other European affiliates); exposure to Asian and Latin American markets is a strong plus.
  • Deep knowledge of IC plan mechanics, goal setting methodologies (relative, absolute, hybrid), payout curve design, alignment analytics, IC governance, and field performance reporting in Ex-US environments.
  • Working knowledge of pharma data assets such as IQVIA MIDAS, local audit data, prescription data, call activity, CRM data, and target lists for Ex-US markets.
  • Proficiency in coding techniques such as SQL, Python, or R for data manipulation, analysis, and workflow automation; advanced Excel skills required.
  • Strong experience with Tableau or Power BI for IC dashboards, field performance reporting, and brand performance dashboards.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-priority IC and brand analytics workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced, cross-cultural, matrixed environment spanning multiple geographies.
  • Prior experience managing or formally mentoring analysts in a pharma IC, sales operations, or commercial analytics setting is preferred.

  • Data Storytelling — Distills IC outcomes, brand analytics findings, risks, and recommendations into clear narratives with practical business implications and decision points.
  • Operational Excellence — Identifies and implements opportunities to automate, standardize, and scale IC and brand analytics workflows using modern tools and engineering practices.
