What happens when someone sees potential in you?
Before Lindsey Daniel joined full time, she was helping design Takeda's manufacturing facilities as a consulting engineer. She was convinced to make a move by a conversation with two leaders who looked beyond the position in front of her and focused on where her career could go.
They literally mapped out my entire career and where I wanted to go. I really felt like they had my development in mind.
Today, Lindsey has grown from engineering into strategy and business leadership.
How can innovation shape your career?
Innovation means attracting talent from outside the industry. After building a career in software engineering, Samer Ansari made the leap into healthcare, bringing his technical expertise to digital transformation in biopharma.
My background is in software engineering, but I've always thought about my Ikigai... my reason for being... how can I contribute back to society and what value can I bring?
What if my next role looks nothing like my first?
Savhanna McElligott joined Takeda in Global Finance, but it wasn't long before opportunities for internal mobility took her career in an unexpected direction.
I joined in a Global Finance role and I've moved around Takeda since then. I've had a great opportunity to try a couple different areas at the company and have now landed in U.S. Medical Affairs.
What if my career path isn't linear?
After leaving Takeda, Renee Olson returned with a fresh perspective and a renewed sense of possibility. Coming back gave her the opportunity to explore different areas of the business before finding the role that felt like the right next chapter. She's not alone, either. Boomerang employees, those who leave and later return, are a familiar part of the Takeda story, bringing back new experiences, fresh ideas and an even deeper appreciation for the impact they can make.
Within just a few months [at a different company], I wanted to go home. I wanted to go back to Takeda.
Will I keep learning as my career grows?
Anastasia Kharlamova joined Takeda straight out of graduate school in 2012. More than a decade later, she's grown from an early-career scientist into a director in Analytical Development, worked across therapeutic areas and scientific modalities, and represented Takeda in discussions with the FDA. Her career shows that career growth is about continually expanding your expertise.
One of the things that I've found along all of my years here at Takeda is there's many ways to solve a problem. Let's bring all of the ideas to the table. Let's figure out the pros and cons, what's working and what's not working. Maybe we can combine a couple ideas, and this is where I've really found that we've succeeded.
