Job Description

Takeda is a leading global Oncology player on its innovative portfolio in India. Oncology Franchise Head is a key role in the Takeda India Oncology team which serves as the P&L owner of the Business Unit, defines the strategic direction and elevates the in-market performance of the Takeda Oncology brands. The incumbent will successfully manage the Business Unit towards profit by maximizing the sales and margin revenue, through the management of the sales & marketing team.

  • Sets, evaluates, and achieves sales objectives and marketing strategies according to the Takeda’s overall objectives and policies.

  • Plans, executes, and monitors effectively potential new product launches, being the leading individual.

  • Leads the strategy and implementation for the relevant Product portfolio.

  • Maximizes brand sales in a changing market environment, where multiple stakeholders are important and employs an integrated approach towards all stakeholders.

  • Fully develops people and drives company brand strategy through a brand team approach and a strong cross-functional execution of tactical activities while adhering to Takeda and industry CoC

1. Leadership (% of time - 25%)

  • To provide inspirational leadership to the sales and marketing team in the franchise in a cohesive manner to ensure strong alignment to optimize strategy implementation and sales delivery.

  • Create the vision, clarity and drive for all team members in the BU to enable them to deliver the expected sales.

  • Ensure that the goals and objectives are agreed to and cascaded in a timely manner, and giving ongoing feedback, coaching and development to build skills and contribution (People development)

2. Driving for Results (% of time - 25%)

  • Delivering marketing, local market access and sales plans, which optimize the brand in the portfolio.

  • Achieve the sales, profit, and market share targets for franchise, in terms of both annual budget and shorter-term phasing.

  • Lead long range forecasting to support life cycle management and strategic portfolio planning

3. Strategic Thinking (% of time - 20%)

  • To create clear business unit strategies that are fulfilled through the tactical implementation.

  • To work with regional team to ensure localization of regional strategies and to tap into knowledge and information that is held by others.

  • Undertake Business Unit Planning ensuring all critical factors are taken into account and that both strategic and tactical plans are reviewed by senior management prior to approval.

  • To ensure launch excellence for new molecules as and when available, indications and line extensions to ensure the Takeda achieves its goals.

  • To develop strong links to organization to ensure alignment and develop an understanding of market challenges and progress

4. Customer & Market focus (% of time - 15%)

  • Lead, develop and maintain appropriate customer networks on behalf of the company

  • Ensure competitor intelligence processes are developed and maintained.

  • Ensure strategies are implemented to optimize the product's local access to market

  • incorporate digital e.g. omni channel engagement as needed to amplify F2F activities with customers

5. Communications (5 of time - 15%)

  • Actively develop the motivation of the sales force through high-quality communication and flawless delivery of materials for each sales cycle

  • Be inclined towards Digital and Omnichannel communication.

  • Present on a regular basis to marketing team to ensure vision for brand is understood.

  • Develop strong cohesive relationships with marketing managers, sales force and managers via regular contact ensuring profound understanding of market

Education

Bachelor’s degree (MBA is a plus)

Location: Mumbai Or Gurugram

Travelling requirement: Frequent travel 30-40% time within country, with occasional travel to other international locations

Experience

  • Must have 15 years of experience in Sales & Marketing across Life Sciences/ Healthcare in Oncology segment with at least 5 years in leadership positions.

  • Experience in Oncology is mandatory and launching new portfolio is preferred

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, initiative, creativity and proven track-record for innovation.

  • Experience in heme-oncology space preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience in leveraging data and digital to optimize business and customer engagement.
