Job Description

OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE

This position will support Takeda’s commitment to building strong relationships with patients, caregivers, and patient advocacy communities. This position will report to the Head, Public Affairs and Patient Advocacy. The qualified candidate will be responsible for identifying and supporting relationships with the patient organization, patient groups and other relevant stakeholders for the company’s focused rare disease therapeutic areas.

ACCOUNTABILITIES.

  • Develop the patient engagement strategy for Takeda India and mobilize patient groups to advocate key reforms in RD.

  • Partner mapping at Patient Organizations, NGO and other development sector Organizations and preparing blueprints for patient advocacy plans aligning with Takeda’s brand plans.

  • Establish equity of Takeda with the patient organization as an innovative organization focused on patient access.  

  • Plan and execute projects with patient organizations/patient advocacy groups in the disease area

  • Work with development partners at country and state level to drive patient advocacy initiatives towards desired patient empowerment.

  • Drive capability-building initiatives for patient organizations and manage partnership with academia and research institutions.

  • Provide strategic guidance for continued growth of Patient Support Programs and any other programs focused on addressing patient needs.

  • Ensure state specific and relevant insights on hurdles faced by patients are available to enable state specific patient impact initiatives.

  • Build strong connections and working relationships with Internal stakeholders to mobilize resources from enabling function/community to support patient initiatives fully aligned as per the company ethics and compliance SOPs.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • A university degree in Public Health/Policy/Health Sciences/Epidemiology/Social Sciences related disciplines

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in patient advocacy, public health, patient services or related field in a multi-national, matrixed environment, ideally with pharma sector.
