ABOUT THE ROLE

The Growth & Emerging Markets (GEM) Ethics & Compliance Area Head for SAM (Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Mexico) implements Takeda E&C program in the Core Hub, building relationships with commercial and functional leaders and working together with the GEM E&C LT to:

  • Act as a point of contact for relevant Core Hub commercial leaders on E&C matters​
  • Represent E&C with Core Hub leadership
  • Providestrategic expert insight to E&C in Core Hub LOCs
  • Lead the consistent and timely implementation of GEC/GPD initiatives across Core Hub LOCs, factoring in country/regional nuances and supporting decision-making in E&C
  • Identify and escalate issues/concerns from Core Hub LOCs to GEM/GPD E&C
  • Represent GEM in Global E&C working groups and forums to ensure GEM's E&C needs are factored in global initiatives
  • Ensure a harmonized and consistent E&C approach in GEM, by aligning across E&C colleagues (Global, BU, BF, LOC)
  • Serve as GEM E&C Center of Excellence for designated topics

This role reports to the Global Head of Ethics & Compliance for Growth & Emerging Markets


ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Drives the continuous improvement of the GEM E&C Program, in response to emerging risks, lessons learned, global changes and periodic E&C program assessments, as
  • appropriate
  • As an active member of the GEM E&C LT, communicates and aligns on E&C best
  • practices, challenges and experiences to enable the  effective implementation of the E&C Program in the Core Hub
  • Supports E&C Core Hubin LOCs to make decisions
  • Directs risk management as part of day-to-day conversations, actively assessing risks and proposing mitigations for projects and activities while partnering with business units and functions
  • Oversees the implementation of Global E&C Policies in the Core Hub
  • Supports the development, maintenance and enhancement of GEM-specific procedures, guidelines and controls, providing expert input based on Core Hub requirements and risk landscape Responsible for the implementation of an effective system for monitoring compliance with E&C related laws, regulations, industry codes and company policies and procedures
  • Conducts investigations of cases assigned by Global Team  and in collaboration with BU/BF/LOC E&C, Legal, HR and others as needed

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

  • • Bachelor’s degree, relevant advanced degree is preferred
  • • Proven experience in healthcare ethics & compliance (minimum 10 years); pharmaceutical, diagnostic or medical device experience is strongly preferred
  • • Experience in working in emerging markets across different cultures, regulatory and legal frameworks
  • • Strong pharmaceutical business acumen and ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
  • • Demonstrated knowledge of key laws, regulations and industry best practice standards
  • • Experience in managing potential, present and future compliance risks related to the business, including risk identification, controls & risk mitigation of potential non-compliance
  • • Demonstrates unquestionable integrity and professionalism
  • • Fluent written and spoken English (other languages highly desirable)
