For Takeda employees in Thousand Oaks,
Every Vial Has a Name

The Thousand Oaks site is a vertically integrated and licensed bioprocessing plant with over 25 years manufacturing experience. The team is proud to make one drug substance and six finished products for the rare disease community. Takeda invested $165 million dollars to expand the site's footprint, grow its portfolio of treatments and increase the capacity to manufacture additional products for its patients.

Developing our Family and the Community

At Thousand Oaks, employees are family. We want our staff to grow, both professionally and personally. Our DEI-focused employee resource groups, which we call Takeda Resource Groups (TRGs), play a vital role in educating and developing the site’s diverse workforce, as well as supporting local community groups through various outreach efforts. We are proud to have 10 different TRGs at Thousand Oaks. Some of the great work our TRGs have done both for the community and our facility include:

  • Site tour and career panel for Young Black Scholars program through 100 Black Men of Los Angeles
  • Baby/maternity clothes collection for homeless/abused women and children through Sarah’s House Maternity Homes
  • On-site volunteering for local organizations including Samaritan Center in Simi Valley, Casa Pacifica, James Storehouse
  • Leadership career panel with senior leadership for all employees
  • Bring your family to work events including STEM demonstrations, BBQ catering and games

  • Photovoltaic solar panel installation to provide up to 40% of the site's electricity
  • 35 electric vehicle charging stations
  • Zero waste to landfill initiatives including compostable utensils/food containers and organic waste bins
