Takeda Summer Internship Program

Make History. Change Futures.

Our U.S. Summer Internship Program offers students a 10–12 week opportunity to contribute to meaningful work and envision a future dedicated to making history and changing the future of healthcare. Interns have historically joined teams across our organization, gaining hands-on experience that drives both innovation and professional growth. Through real-world projects, interns gain a deeper understanding of our values-driven culture while exploring career paths within the business units and functions participating in Takeda's U.S. Summer Internship Program.

Realize your potential. Enable our purpose.

We’re committed to supporting the career growth of our interns through a range of learning and development opportunities. Whether they’re looking to broaden their skill set or explore different areas of our organization, Takeda's U.S. Summer Internship Program offers valuable experiences to help them grow.

  • Leader Sessions: Through presentations from leaders across the business, interns will gain a clear understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and how it operates, including the full product life cycle.
  • Professional Development: Interns will find valuable opportunities for personal growth, whether through Takeda-hosted workshops on topics like LinkedIn best practices and resume reviews, or by engaging with on-demand training through our Bloom Learning Experience Platform (LXP).
  • Mentorship: Through a dedicated mentorship program, interns are paired with experienced professionals for valuable guidance and support.
  • In-Person and Virtual Events: Interns will build lasting professional relationships through engaging events such as volunteer opportunities, orientation, National Intern Day celebrations and farewell sendoffs.

Interning at Takeda has made me think about the nuances of having a purposeful career—something I’ve realized not everyone discovers right away.

During my internship, I surprised myself with my willingness to network, and it turned out to be rewarding because the more connections you make, the more tied you feel to the area.

I had the pleasure of working with the same intern for two summers in a row, and she brought creative thinking to the table that pushed our team to reimagine how we approach our work.

I believe that people and purpose are the two most important ingredients for meaningful work, and I found both during my internship at Takeda, which made me want to join the organization full time.”
