A look inside Zydus Takeda’s manufacturing operations in Vashi

The Vashi site is located approx. 26 km from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and began operations in 1999. The site is supported by a team of over 200 employees. Its expertise focuses on two manufacturing technologies, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) and Key Intermediates (KSM) producing 13 products and supplying Europe and Japan.

Zydus Takeda Healthcare Private Limited is a Joint Venture Company between two pharmaceutical giants Zydus Lifesciences Limited; an India-based leading Pharma Company with a global footprint and Takeda Pharmaceuticals, the largest Pharmaceutical Company coming from Japan with a worldwide presence.

What We Do

Zydus Takeda Healthcare has been based in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra since its inception in 1999. We are a 100% export-oriented unit with a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. This facility is designed to produce both active pharmaceutical ingredients and intermediates, and is compliant with both national and international GMP standards.

The facility is well equipped with utilities, a Quality Control Laboratory, and an Effluent Treatment Plant to deliver best-in-class products. The Company uses advanced global systems like the learning platform – Bloom and SAP Success Factors for GxP & Non-GxP. With time we have adopted various progressive approaches like quality conversations, Quality Culture Laboratory Excellence, safety campaigns, and various other skill enhancement programs to drive performance and ensure high-level engagement. These interventions have been well received by the employees and have eventually become the core strength of the organization.

Our Achievements

Over the years, the company has consistently been felicitated with several awards by Government and Non-Government organizations for outstanding achievements in the areas of Energy Saving, Safety, and Environment. We believe that the spirit of CSR lies in creating a meaningful impact on our community in the areas of health, education, and environment.

We have also been recognized with various prominent awards in environment, health, and safety at State Level such as a 5 star Rating for Air Pollution, a card issued on 21 August 2019 by the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board. The site is certified by ‘Intertek’ to maintain management systems as per ISO 14001:2015; ISO 45001:2018.

Our site was awarded 16th & 17th National Award for ‘Excellence in Cost Management’ in the years 2018 & 2019 by “The Institute of Cost Accountants of India”.
