About the Role

As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL), you will serve as a trusted scientific partner to healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders (KOLs) and other external stakeholders within your therapeutic area. You will play a critical role in executing Takeda’s medical strategy by delivering high-quality scientific exchange, generating valuable field insights, and helping to improve patient outcomes through evidence-based discussions.

This field-based role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of medical innovation, building meaningful scientific relationships while contributing to launch readiness, evidence generation and strategic decision-making. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional colleagues and act as a key link between the external scientific community and Takeda.

Field travel is expected to account for approximately 60–70% of working time.

How You Will Contribute

  • Develop and execute territory-level scientific engagement plans aligned with medical and product strategies.

  • Build and maintain trusted partnerships with healthcare professionals, KOLs, researchers and other relevant stakeholders.

  • Communicate complex scientific and clinical information in a clear, balanced and patient-focused manner.

  • Gather, analyse and share medical insights from the field to help shape strategy, identify opportunities and improve patient care.

  • Represent Takeda at scientific congresses, advisory boards, investigator meetings and other medical events.

  • Support evidence-generation activities and contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge within your therapeutic area.

  • Leverage CRM systems, data analytics and digital platforms to enhance stakeholder engagement and maximise impact.

  • Collaborate with Medical Affairs and cross-functional teams to ensure insight-driven decision-making.

  • Maintain deep expertise in the therapeutic area, disease landscape and Takeda products.

  • Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with applicable regulations, industry codes and Takeda compliance standards.

What You Bring to Takeda

  • Advanced scientific degree required (MSc, PharmD, PhD, MD or equivalent), with PhD, PharmD or MD preferred.

  • At least 1-2 years of experience from a pharmaceutical company in a medical, commercial or marketing role

  • Experience as Medical Science Liaison, Medical Affairs or other field-based medical experience, ideally within specialty care, rare diseases or highly competitive therapeutic areas is preferred

  • Strong scientific acumen and the ability to interpret, discuss and communicate clinical data to diverse audiences.

  • Excellent relationship-building, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.

  • Proven ability to generate actionable insights and translate them into meaningful business and medical recommendations.

  • Experience using digital tools, CRM platforms and data-driven approaches to stakeholder engagement.

  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving and prioritisation skills.

  • Comprehensive understanding of pharmaceutical regulations, compliance requirements and non-promotional scientific engagement.

  • Fluency in English; additional regional languages are advantageous.

  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory (up to 60–70%).
