Franchise Head (m/f/d) Hemato-Oncology

for our Oncology Business Unit, based in Berlin.


As the leader of our Onco-Hematology Portfolio, you will manage the Franchise P&L, including forecasting, investment, and personnel budgets. You will prepare for the launch of new pipeline assets, with at least one expected in the current planning period.


Your role involves setting the vision, defining the Franchise strategy, and ensuring the execution of brand and key account plans to achieve ambitious goals. You will lead teams to deliver exceptional stakeholder experiences and exceed customer expectations.


You will develop effective sales and marketing strategies and targeted programs to ensure success. As part of the Global Onco-Hematology community, you will represent Germany in forums and meetings.


Additionally, you will manage talent, succession planning, and training, while ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, company strategies, and Takeda’s corporate philosophy. You will support the Oncology Country Head in achieving company objectives.

Your tasks in detail:
Leadership Responsibility for Sales & Marketing Team:

  • Inspire and develop a team of 15 direct reports.
  • Foster a cooperative and inclusive work environment.
  • Set and monitor ambitious targets and objectives.
  • Manage personnel aspects (vacation, travel, costs, salaries).
  • Make key personnel decisions with HR and the Country Head.

Financial & Strategic Planning:

  • Create and align financial plans, ensuring regular forecasting.
  • Drive brand marketing planning and develop commercial strategies.
  • Analyze brands, competition, market dynamics, and medical trends.
  • Establish and refine the go-to-market model, monitoring trends.

Sales Force Planning & Management:

  • Design and implement Sales Force concepts (coverage, resource planning, targeting).
  • Set and monitor KPIs, ensuring regular reporting.
  • Lead Key Account planning and ensure comprehensive sales training.
  • Develop an effective sales force bonus system with HR and the Country Head.

Customer Activities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers, KOLs, and scientific societies.
  • Identify new opportunities and innovative ways to meet customer needs.
  • Stay informed about market trends in personalized medicine.
  • Attend customer events and congresses, planning stakeholder networks.

Your profile: 

  • Master’s degree and/or PhD required; MBA preferred or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 10 years in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on Oncology in both national and international leadership roles.
  • Budget Management: Proven experience in managing budgets.
  • Launch Expertise: Prior experience with product launches is preferred.
  • Team Leadership: Successful track record of leading cross-functional and interdisciplinary teams, both directly and indirectly.
  • Healthcare Insight: Strong understanding of the German healthcare environment.
  • Business Acumen: Broad knowledge of business models, treatment pathways, market environments, and future trends.
  • Talent Development: Demonstrated success in talent and people development.
  • Location & Travel: Based in Berlin, with a willingness to travel up to 40% per week, and occasionally more.
