Job Description

Role Purpose:

The Strategic Account and Operations Manager leads local engagement with the National Blood Authority (NBA) and other key stakeholders to support procurement planning, funding opportunities, patient access, portfolio continuity and sustainable growth.


The role is accountable for NBA tender readiness and execution, local commercial planning for assigned immunoglobulin brands, allocation coordination, contract implementation and portfolio performance. It works closely with PDT, Supply Chain, Medical, Regulatory, Finance, Market Access and Commercial teams to translate customer, market and supply insights into effective planning and decision-making, while reflecting Takeda’s values of Patient, Trust, Reputation and Business.

How you will Contribute:

Commercial Strategy and Portfolio Performance

  • Lead local commercial planning and execution for assigned brands, aligned to portfolio priorities, funding objectives and patient access outcomes.
  • Develop short, medium and long-term commercial plans that support growth, profitability and market competitiveness.
  • Use customer, market, portfolio and stakeholder insights to inform forecasting, business planning and commercial decision-making.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and identify opportunities to improve outcomes.
  • Manage local engagement investment and support financial planning and forecasting.

Government, Funding and Access

  • Partner with government stakeholders, healthcare systems and internal teams to support funding, access and procurement objectives.
  • Contribute to funding, reimbursement and policy-related initiatives that impact patient access.
  • Build understanding of customer needs, funding pathways and stakeholder priorities to inform access strategies.

NBA Engagement and Tender Execution

  • Lead local planning and readiness for NBA procurement cycles.
  • Coordinate tender preparation, execution, debriefs and contract implementation activities.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders on tender strategies, pricing inputs, supply considerations and implementation plans.
  • Capture stakeholder and market insights to improve future procurement strategies.

Allocation and Supply Coordination

  • Coordinate allocation activities for inline immunoglobulin portfolio brands, balancing patient access needs, contractual commitments and available supply.
  • Act as a key point of contact between PDT, the NBA and internal stakeholders on allocation, demand planning and supply continuity.
  • Monitor demand, inventory and utilisation trends to support forecasting and allocation planning.
  • Provide recommendations on allocation scenarios, supply risks and mitigation options.
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Medical, Regulatory, Finance, Customer Service and Commercial teams to support implementation and communication of allocation decisions.

Key Account and Stakeholder Leadership

  • Support stakeholder mapping, engagement planning and account strategy development.
  • Maintain productive relationships with key customers and external stakeholders.
  • Communicate clearly to support alignment, decision-making and effective execution.
  • Coordinate cross-functional input to support commercial, patient access and contract priorities.

Contracting, Governance and Execution

  • Support negotiation, implementation and governance of contracts and agreements.
  • Monitor performance against contractual obligations, service levels and agreed KPIs.
  • Identify contract risks, improvement opportunities and alignment gaps between customer requirements, supply capability and business commitments.
  • Maintain governance processes that support successful delivery of contract outcomes.
  • Adapt approved communication materials and stakeholder resources where required to support tender, procurement and contract implementation activities.

  • Accurate localisation or adaptation of approved stakeholder materials where required

Expected Skills to be Successful in Role:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Science, Healthcare or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in commercial, sales, account management or market access roles within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • Experience working across local, regional and global teams in a matrixed environment.
  • Demonstrated project management experience, including managing complex initiatives and meeting timelines.
  • Experience supporting procurement, contracting, funding or key account activities preferred.
