Job Description
OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE:
• Build and operate the Medical Insights Center of Excellence as a practical, scalable capability that supports consistent analytics, reporting, and insight generation across Global Medical.
• Lead execution of priority analytics and insights initiatives, translating data into clear recommendations that inform portfolio discussions and leadership decisions.
• Serve as a functional expert for Medical insights, KPIs, performance measurement, and dashboard-enabled decision support.
• Drive high-impact projects that improve Medical impact measurement, insight generation, and adoption of data-driven ways of working within agreed functional direction.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Medical Insights COE Operations & Standards Enablement
• Execute the buildout and ongoing operation of the Medical Insights COE, ensuring processes, tools, and ways of working are clear, practical, and consistently applied.
• Operationalize existing functional direction into standard approaches for insight generation, KPI use, reporting rhythms, and dashboard adoption.
• Maintain a scalable insights framework that supports a consistent view of Medical performance, value, and impact across therapeutic areas and functions.
• Partner with therapeutic area and functional stakeholders to improve consistency of data definitions, methodologies, and governance practices.
Analytics Execution & Portfolio Decision Support
• Lead execution of analytics workstreams that integrate data, business context, and stakeholder input into actionable insights.
• Prepare portfolio intelligence and decision-support materials for Global Medical leadership, including prioritization, resource, risk, and trade-off discussions.
• Identify trends, risks, opportunities, and business implications; recommend actions and escalate material issues for leadership consideration.
Medical Impact Measurement & Value Demonstration
• Implement frameworks and metrics that measure Medical value, impact, outcomes, and contribution to portfolio and enterprise objectives.
• Translate activity-based reporting into more meaningful impact and outcome measures, working within agreed performance-management direction.
• Develop clear approaches to communicate Medical contribution, value realization, and insight implications to cross-functional stakeholders.
Insights Excellence & Stakeholder Enablement
• Act as a functional expert and trusted partner for Medical insights, analytics, KPIs, dashboard interpretation, and performance-management practices.
• Guide stakeholders on how to apply standard methods, interpret insights, and use dashboard outputs to support decision-making.
• Drive adoption of data-driven ways of working through practical guidance, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement.
High-Impact Projects & Capability Improvement
• Lead high-impact projects that improve insight generation, analytics delivery, portfolio reporting, and Medical impact measurement.
• Partner with DD&T, Data & Analytics teams, and external partners to enhance platforms, dashboards, data flows, and advanced analytics capabilities.
• Contribute to the Medical Insights and Analytics capability roadmap by identifying needs, testing improvements, and recommending scalable solutions.

• Strong expertise in portfolio insights, analytics, KPI design, dashboard interpretation, and performance management within Medical Affairs or a comparable environment.
• Ability to integrate multi-source data, business context, and stakeholder input into clear implications and recommendations.
• Practical experience improving reporting, analytics delivery, Medical impact measurement, and insight-generation processes.
Leadership (Vision, strategy and business alignment, people management, communication, influencing others, managing change)
• Leads execution of Medical Insights COE priorities within the broader functional strategy and direction set by PIBO leadership.
• Influences without direct authority across a global, matrixed organization to align stakeholders, drive adoption, and deliver high-impact initiatives.
• Serves as a functional expert and thought partner on insights, analytics, performance measurement, and evidence-based decision support.
• Builds stakeholder confidence in data and analytics through clear communication, transparency, and practical enablement.
Decision-making and Autonomy (capacity and authority to make organizational decisions, autonomy, complexity, impact, problem-solving)
• Establishes operational objectives and workstream plans within defined parameters, existing strategies, and agreed Global Medical priorities.
• Exercises judgment in translating incomplete or imperfect data into insights, options, recommendations, and escalation points.
• Balances stakeholder needs, portfolio priorities, data limitations, and resource constraints to support aligned execution.
• Recommends improvements to KPIs, reporting, methodologies, and decision-support approaches; escalates material risks and decisions to leadership as needed.

• Partners closely with Global Medical leadership, therapeutic area leads, Business Operations, DD&T, Data & Analytics teams, and external analytics/data partners.
• Engages stakeholders to align requirements, clarify business questions, interpret analytics outputs, and translate insights into practical action.
Innovation (knowledge sharing, innovation, and risk taking)
• Identifies opportunities to improve analytics, dashboards, performance measurement, data quality, and insight generation.
• Tests and scales practical improvements, including advanced analytics and AI-enabled approaches, in partnership with relevant subject matter experts.
Complexity (products managed, business environment, cultural considerations)
• Operates across a global, matrixed organization with diverse stakeholders, varying data maturity, and evolving performance-management needs.
• Integrates multiple data sources and perspectives into coherent portfolio and Medical impact insights while navigating a regulated environment and cross-geography requirements.
Experience:
• 8+ years of related work experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, consulting, or relevant strategy, insights, analytics, or operations roles.
• Experience leading analytics, insights, portfolio reporting, performance measurement, or business operations projects; experience within Medical Affairs is a plus.
• Track record executing cross-functional initiatives, translating analytical outputs into business implications, and influencing stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
Technical skills:
• Strong working knowledge of KPI frameworks, performance tracking, value realization, dashboarding, and insight-generation methods.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including data synthesis, forecasting, scenario analysis, trade-off analysis, and executive-ready communication.
• Experience with data visualization, dashboarding tools, and collaboration with data/analytics or technology partners.
• Ability to connect insights to practical business decisions, implementation plans, and measurable outcomes.
Education: Bachelor degree required; advanced degree such as MBA, MPH, PhD, or similar is a plus.
Languages: Fluent English required; additional languages advantageous.

USA - MA - Cambridge - Kendall Square - 500U.S. Base Salary Range:
$154,400.00 - $242,550.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives.
