About the role:

Join us as our Automation OT Project engineer at our biotechnological Plant in Neuchatel. Part of the Automation group, you will define and deliver strategy, initiatives and lifecycle management for the site OT infrastructure, OT cybersecurity and the IT components of the PCS (Process Control System). You will also act as the Automation reference for the IT/OT aspects of new equipment and system improvement projects.

How you will contribute:

Reporting to the Automation Lead, you will

  • Lead OT automation projects from concept and design through commissioning and handover.
  • Define project objectives, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements.
  • Coordinate and motivate cross-functional stakeholders (automation, IT, production, maintenance, suppliers).
  • Own lifecycle management of OT equipment/systems (obsolescence, migrations, standardization, documentation) while ensuring production continuity.
  • Implement and maintain upgrade and patch/firmware strategies across OS, applications and OT devices, aligned with industrial and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Author and review key engineering documentation (functional and design specifications, including OT architecture design) and contribute to data governance expectations.
  • Drive continuous improvement by analyzing performance/reliability/availability of OT systems and delivering optimization initiatives with manufacturing teams.
  • Manage risks, prioritize activities, and ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement optimization projects to enhance efficiency, safety, and robustness of installations.
  • Collaborate closely with production teams to ensure solutions meet operational needs.

What you bring to Takeda:

  • Industrial IT/Automation OT degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical/chemical or food industry.
  • Knowledge of GMP environment and required change management/validation process.
  • Strong knowledge of OT environments and their interactions with IT systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools.
  • Expertise in Windows configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in lifecycle management and upgrading strategies for automation systems, including monthly patch/firmware deployment on OS, applications, and OT devices.
  • Experience in industrial standards, OT cybersecurity, and engineering best practices.
  • Experience writing functional and design specifications (e.g., OT architecture design).
  • Knowledge in data governance.
  • Knowledge of Linux , Armis and NinjaOne would be a strong plus.
  • Strong project management capabilities (planning, budgeting, resource allocation, risk management).
  • French & English.
