Data, Digital & Technology (DD&T) for the U.S. Business Unit (USBU) and Oncology Business Unit (OBU) is in the process of integrating into a single, aligned organization, with the intent to operate as a unified strategic partner to business leadership. During this period, DD&T leaders are expected to shape and enable business strategy through close partnership—translating enterprise platforms and emerging shared capabilities into prioritized roadmaps, investment decisions, and measurable outcomes.

OBJECTIVES / PURPOSE

The Head of US OBU Data, Digital & Technology (DD&T) provides enterprise level leadership for the DD&T agenda across the US Oncology Business Unit, defining and driving a cohesive strategy that enables strong commercial execution, patient impact, and sustainable business performance.

This role serves as the senior DD&T strategic partner to US OBU leadership, accountable for shaping and delivering end-to-end DD&T capabilities that are data driven, patient focused, and scalable, while ensuring alignment with enterprise DD&T platforms, standards, and operating models.

The role operates at the intersection of strategy, execution enablement, and value realization, ensuring DD&T investments translate into measurable business and patient outcomes.

DELIVERY & BUSINESS ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Serve as the primary DD&T advisor to US OBU leadership, shaping business strategy, priorities, and investment decisions.
  • Define and lead an integrated, multi‑year DD&T strategy and roadmap aligned to US OBU priorities and enterprise DD&T direction.
  • Ensure DD&T capabilities enable effective execution across the commercial lifecycle, supporting consistent performance, insight driven decision making, and operational effectiveness.
  • Embed patient journey thinking into DD&T strategy and solutions, ensuring capabilities support education, engagement, access, adherence, and continuity of care.
  • Own DD&T readiness for new product launches and major business milestones, ensuring data, platforms, and analytics foundations are in place to support execution at scale.
  • Establish and govern shared data and analytics assets that provide a consistent, trusted view of patients, customers, and performance across the US OBU.
  • Define value cases, KPIs, and success metrics for DD&T investments and ensure sustained value realization.
  • Act as escalation point for complex, cross‑cutting DD&T initiatives with material commercial, operational, or strategic impact.

STRATEGIC VISION & IMPLEMENTATION

  • Translate US OBU business strategy into clear DD&T strategic imperatives and executable plans.
  • Balance enterprise standardization and reuse with the flexibility required to meet US OBU needs.
  • Ensure DD&T capabilities remain current with evolving data sources, digital technologies, and regulatory expectations relevant to oncology.
  • Partner closely with Global DD&T platform teams to ensure alignment, coherence, and scale.

OPERATING MODEL & GOVERNANCE

  • Drive adoption of the DD&T operating model across the US OBU, embedding DD&T capabilities into business ways of working.
  • Establish effective governance to prioritize demand, manage dependencies, and optimize resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture, security, privacy, and regulatory standards.

ENTERPRISE LEADERSHIP

  • Serve as a senior member of the USBU & OBU DD&T leadership community, contributing to enterprise DD&T strategy and direction.
  • Enable change management across the US OBU DD&T agenda, ensuring alignment, communication, and adoption.
  • Champion a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement aligned with Takeda values.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in Pharma / Biotech DD&T leadership roles.
  • Proven track record partnering with senior business leaders.
  • Demonstrated success delivering measurable business and patient impact through DD&T.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Up to ~20% travel, primarily domestic, with occasional international travel.

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$212,000.00 - $333,190.00


The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location. 

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
