Job Description

OBJECTIVES / PURPOSE

We are seeking a dynamic Manager to join Takeda's GCC Commercial Insights & Analytics (I&A) organization in India. This is the first people leadership role in the GCC analytics career track, combining hands-on analytical delivery with team management, stakeholder partnership, and operational accountability for an assigned portfolio of US brand analytics workstreams. The Manager serves as the day-to-day GCC analytics partner to US I&A brand leads and is accountable for the quality, timeliness, and business relevance of all deliverables produced by their pod.

  • Lead an analytics pod of 2-5 Analysts, ensuring high-quality, on-time delivery of brand analytics for assigned US business units while personally contributing to complex analytical work that requires senior judgment.
  • Serve as the primary GCC analytics partner for US I&A brand leads, managing the full analytics intake-to-delivery cycle — from requirement clarification and workplan development through execution, quality review, and stakeholder communication.
  • Translate US brand business questions into structured analytical workplans, assigning work across the team, reviewing all outputs, and ensuring every delivery meets Takeda's standards for analytical rigor, clarity, and commercial relevance.
  • Drive continuous improvement across team workflows — championing automation, standardized processes, and capability development — while building a high-engagement, learning-oriented team culture.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Analytics Delivery and Quality Ownership

  • Conduct and oversee end-to-end delivery of assigned analytical workstreams, including performance reporting, HCP targeting and segmentation analytics, patient opportunity assessments, launch readiness analytics, and ad hoc deep dives across assigned brands.
  • Define the analytical approach for complex business questions: translate brand team asks into scoped, hypothesis-driven workplans; assign tasks to team members based on skill and capacity; and personally execute the highest-complexity analyses as required.
  • Review all team deliverables — dashboards, performance reports, segmentation analyses, targeting outputs, and ad hoc studies — for analytical rigor, data accuracy, narrative quality, and stakeholder readiness before US review.
  • Conduct and oversee secondary market data analyses in the areas of segmentation, customer targeting, promotional ROI, and ad hoc marketing assessments; evaluate and recommend appropriate models and techniques to the team.

Stakeholder Management and Ways of Working

  • Serve as the primary GCC point of contact for US I&A brand leads on assigned franchises, managing analytical intake, clarifying requirements, setting and meeting delivery commitments, and proactively communicating status and risks; adapt presentations and deliverables in real time based on stakeholder needs and audience.
  • Represent the GCC analytics pod in US I&A brand planning sessions, quarterly business reviews, and cross-functional analytics forums, ensuring GCC contributions are visible and commercially relevant.
  • Establish and maintain efficient ways of working between the GCC pod and US I&A teams, including intake routines, prioritization frameworks, and communication norms.

People Leadership and Team Development

  • Directly manage 2-4 Analysts and Senior Associates: set clear, measurable goals; conduct regular one-on-ones; provide substantive performance feedback; and build structured, individualized development plans.
  • Build analytical and domain capabilities within the team through coaching the team on methodology, facilitating internal knowledge-sharing sessions, and identifying external training opportunities.
  • Foster a high-engagement team environment defined by ownership, intellectual curiosity, cross-functional collaboration, and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Contribute to talent acquisition for the GCC analytics team, including participation in interviews and onboarding of new team members.

Process Improvement and Operational Excellence

  • Lead automation and efficiency initiatives across recurring reporting workflows, implementing SQL- and Python-based pipelines and dashboard automation that reduce manual effort and improve reliability.
  • Review and rationalize the existing reporting portfolio on a regular basis, identifying opportunities to consolidate, automate, or retire deliverables in alignment with evolving brand team priorities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree required in Statistics, Data Science, Life Sciences, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Advanced degree (Master's or MBA) in Analytics, Data Science, Business, or a related quantitative field is strongly preferred.
  • Relevant advanced certifications in analytics, cloud platforms, or project management are a plus.

Experience:

  • 7-8 years of progressive experience in US pharmaceutical commercial analytics, with a demonstrated track record of high-quality analytical delivery and early people or project leadership experience.
  • Deep knowledge of US pharma commercial datasets: patient-level claims (IQVIA, Komodo Health, Symphony Health), specialty pharmacy (867), EMR, sales data, and access/payer data is required.
  • Proficiency in coding techniques such as SQL, SAS, R, or Python for data manipulation and workflow automation; advanced Excel skills required.
  • Strong experience with Tableau or Power BI for performance, launch, and brand analytics dashboard development.
  • Experience with Databricks or cloud-based analytics environments is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-priority analytical workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced, cross-cultural, matrixed environment.
  • Prior experience of managing or formally mentoring analysts in a US pharma or healthcare analytics setting is preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

  • People Leadership — Motivates, develops, and retains a team of analysts; sets clear direction, provides growth-oriented feedback, and holds the team to high delivery standards.
  • Analytical Project Management — Manages multiple concurrent workstreams with rigorous prioritization, quality control, and timeline adherence across a dynamic brand portfolio.
  • Advanced US Pharma Analytics — Deep proficiency in US commercial data and statistical methods; personally, executes and critically reviews complex analyses with sound methodological judgment.
  • Stakeholder Partnership — Builds trusted, productive relationships with US I&A brand leads and COE counterparts; communicate proactively and manage expectations credibly.
  • Data Storytelling — Distils complex multi-source findings into compelling, decision-oriented narratives with clear business implications and well-reasoned recommendations.
  • Operational Excellence — Identifies and implements opportunities to automate, standardize, and scale analytical workflows using modern tools and engineering practices.
  • Cross-Cultural Communication — Fluent communicator across India-US time zones and organizational levels; adapts style effectively for both technical and commercial audiences.

TAKEDA LEADERSHIP BEHAVIORS

In alignment with Takeda's Values-Based Culture, this role requires demonstration of the following leadership behaviors:

  • Act with Integrity — Deliver accurate, transparent work and take full responsibility for quality.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally — Contribute positively to GCC-US team workflows and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Drive Accountability — Take ownership of all assigned tasks and deliver on commitments.
  • Embrace Learning — Continuously build analytical and domain capabilities through feedback and self-driven development.
