THE OPPORTUNTY
As a Lead Business Analyst, you will take ownership of business analysis activities of medium to high complexity, working closely with stakeholders who will rely on your expertise and judgment. You will lead the gathering, analysis and documentation of software specifications, while also delegating less complex tasks to junior colleagues and supporting their development. You will keep documentation for your assigned applications accurate and up to date, ensuring it reflects reality and supports smooth delivery. In your day-to-day work, you will partner closely with development teams, product/platform owners, QA and other key stakeholders to validate user stories, review QA results and drive high-quality outcomes for our digital solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Work independently on business analysis tasks of medium to high complexity, delivering outputs according to company standards.
- Gather, analyze and document software specifications and business requirements (discussions, workshops, interviews, refinement meetings).
- Decompose business needs into clear specifications and smaller blocks such as user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Maintain, update and manage documentation and analytical outputs (software specifications, data flow diagrams, components) for assigned applications/parts of software.
- Act as a translator and advocate for taxonomy and metadata improvements-clearly communicate their impact on business outcomes to brand managers, marketers and other stakeholders
- Design, implement, and manage business taxonomies and metadata models tailored to pharmaceutical marketing needs, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with brand managers, digital marketers, medical affairs, and IT teams to understand business goals and content needs.
- Establish controlled vocabularies, tagging schemas, and classification structures for campaigns, digital assets, HCP/patient content, and therapeutic areas.
- Enhance search, navigation, personalization, and content discoverability across marketing platforms (e.g., DAMs, CMS, CRM).
- Govern taxonomy usage, ensuring consistency, scalability, and compliance across markets and product lines.
- Support integration with content lifecycle systems (e.g., Veeva, Adobe AEM) and omnichannel delivery tools.
- Collaborate closely with development teams, product/platform owners, QA and other stakeholders (validation of user stories, QA outcomes, testing, training, support procedures).
- Provide continuous updates during project delivery; communicate changes, risks, issues and ambiguities in a timely manner.
- Guide and support junior members of chapter when necessary.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Must-have requirements
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Information Science, Library Science, Life Sciences, Marketing, or a related field experience.
- 10+ years of experience in Business Analysis
- 4+ years of experience in taxonomy design, information architecture, or metadata strategy ideally within the pharmaceutical or healthcare domain.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements specific to pharma marketing content.
- 3+ years of experience in a Lean/Agile development environment
- Working knowledge of digital asset management (DAM), content management systems (CMS), and marketing technology stacks.
- Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to simplify technical concepts and articulate business benefits to diverse audiences.
- Experience working in matrixed organizations and cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with Agile tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence)
- Strong end-to-end BA skills: gathering, analysing and documenting business and system requirements
- Proficient in SQL and analysing data in Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas)
- Knowledge on BPMN, UML including modelling tools
- Experience working with multiple systems and documenting data flows / system interactions
- Highly organized; able to break down complex problems and set priorities
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organization
Nice to have requirements
- Certification in business analysis area (CBAP, BCS, other)
- Familiarity / working knowledge of: Databricks, Power BI, Jira, AWS, FTP/sFTP
- Experience in content creation (Promotional/Non-Promotional).
