OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE

Member is responsible for the data layer of the platform, including reporting, data pipelines, and system integrations. This role coordinates delivery across these areas, provides subject matter expertise during implementation, and monitors data products after deployment to ensure continued accuracy and reliability.             

Serves as the data SME and coordination point for all data-related request types: reporting fixes, data model changes, data pipelines, reporting and integration issues. Does not manage general platform development — those remain with the Platform Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary coordination point for integration requests and data pipeline issues, answering integration-related questions and coordinating execution once the appropriate governance approvals are in place.
  • Provide technical SME review for integration enhancements and support the Platform Manager in evaluating architecture impacts before implementation begins.
  • Coordinate and oversee data product work associated with data model and integration changes, managing sequencing dependencies between Planisware platform updates and downstream data pipeline changes.
  • Provide SME oversight for reporting data pipelines, ensuring dashboards and analytics outputs reflect accurate Planisware data structures and deliver consistent business insights.
  • Own pipeline monitoring oversight post-deployment across all data-related request types, identifying recurring failures, initiating issue resolution activities, and escalating architectural concerns to the Platform Manager when required.
  • Liaise with upstream and downstream system owners on integration enhancements and pipeline changes, ensuring cross-system dependencies are managed and integration standards are met before technical architecture review.
  • Own the reliability and quality of Planisware-related data products, reporting pipelines, and integrations from build through to post-deployment monitoring.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

Essential

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ (preferably 7+) years of experience in data engineering, software development, data warehousing, data lake/mesh, and supporting digital products developing data products following FAIR data principles.
  • Strong expertise in data integration, data modeling, and modern database technologies (GraphQL, SQL, No-SQL, python, pySpark) and AWS cloud technologies (e.g., DMS, Lambda, Databricks, SQS, Step Functions, Data Streaming).
  • Knowledge of SDLC Proficiency with version control (e.g., Git, GitHub, GitLab) and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
  • Understanding of good engineering practices (DevSecOps, source-code versioning using GIT, ...)
  • Proficient working in AGILE SCRUM Teams and using JIRA and Confluence.
  • Good understanding of software security principles and secure coding practices.
  • Knowledge of automated testing tools and frameworks and practices (unit testing, integration testing, E2E testing).
  • Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

Nice To Have

  • Experience with streaming technologies like Spark Streaming or Kafka
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience, preferably with Terraform.
  • Experience designing and developing API data integrations using SOAP / REST / FAST.
  • Extensive experience in DBA, schema design & dimensional modeling, and SQL optimization.
  • Understanding of reporting.
