Job Description
About the role:
You will lead global medical and scientific engagement strategy with vaccine steering committees, supranational stakeholders, recommending bodies, and medical societies.
This role is mainly internal. You will align global medical engagement across regions and partner with teams in commercial, market access, and public affairs. You will report to the Global Medical Head Affairs, Vaccines. This role does not include direct people management and you will lead cross-functional teams through influence.
How you will contribute:
- Lead identification, mapping, and prioritization of supranational medical vaccine stakeholders, including national immunization advisory groups, regional advisory bodies, and global medical societies.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive global medical engagement strategy for external vaccine steering committees, supranational stakeholders, medical societies, and other vaccines advisory bodies, aligned with global vaccine strategy, public health priorities, and access objectives.
- Coordinate medical engagement across Global Medical Affairs, Vaccines, in line with medical strategy, and work closely with teams in commercial, market access, and public affairs.
- Support planning and delivery of global medical engagement activities.
- Develop and implement tools, performance measures, and guidance to improve results.
- Improve medical engagement approaches, including the use of digital tools and AI-enabled processes.
- Monitor and analyze global and regional vaccine recommendation trends and stakeholder priorities.
- Translate engagement insights into strategic recommendations for global medical and cross-functional leadership.
- Partner with global and regional stakeholders across commercial, market access, public affairs, regulatory, research and development, and health economics and outcomes research teams.
Skills and qualifications:
- Degree in life sciences, global health, public relations, communication, public affairs or related field.
- At least five years of experience in project management.
- Experience working in matrix organizations and leading through influence.
- Experience building global or regional cross-functional engagement strategies.
- Understanding of public health systems.
- Demonstrated comfort with digital tools, data platforms, and modern medical engagement technologies

You excel at anticipating internal/external challenges, recommending improvements, and providing leadership and consultative expertise for a specific business, region or function. Your role involves shaping company policies, solving unique, far-reaching problems affecting operations, disciplines, or other business units/functional areas/regions. You frequently interact with equivalent-level managers and customer representatives, conducting briefings and technical meetings. Operating independently, you provide guidance in the most complex situations, lead functional teams or projects, and serve as a best practice/quality resource.
