Job Description

Are you an experienced Finance Manager with expertise in financial reporting, M&A, auditing and project management? Do you want to build something next-gen and innovative, while contributing to a greater purpose?

As we continue our digital transformation and experience rapid growth in the U.S. and Europe, Takeda Business Solutions (TBS) is now hiring a M&A Program Manager within Takeda Business Solutions (TBS), a function that enables Takeda’s business strategy by simplifying processes, reducing cost, improving service, and driving continuous improvement with patients at the center.


You will support mergers and acquisitions activities, working closely with Finance delivery leads, functional teams, personnel from target/acquired companies, and external parties. The role involves applying subject matter knowledge to resolve business and accounting issues, preparing transaction documentation, and developing and maintaining M&A best practices.

Accelerate value & make an impact by:

  • Partner with Finance Delivery Leads and the M&A Portfolio Lead to set up M&A transactions and define associated accounting guidance.
  • Prepare, validate, and present transaction documentation, including accounting memoranda and accounting treatment recommendations.
  • Build and maintain complex financial models for what-if analysis, scenario planning, and M&A decisions.
  • Support implementation of end-to-end finance processes, systems, policies, procedures, and internal controls that enable strategic initiatives and integration activities.
  • Participate in M&A workshops and meetings to gather requirements, develop recommendations, and accelerate integration decision-making.
  • Identify, escalate, and help resolve problematic areas during M&A activities.
  • Promote process excellence and a continuous improvement mindset for global M&A processes; oversee and coach junior team members and occasionally deputize for the M&A Lead.

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum eight years of post-qualification experience in financial reporting, M&A, auditing, or project management.
  • Undergraduate degree or master’s degree in finance, accounting, management, or a related discipline; professional accounting qualification preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising or coordinating others (typically one to three years).
  • Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
  • Advanced financial modelling and analytical skills, with ability to prioritize and synthesise complex information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and collaboration platforms such as SharePoint; ability to create clear analyses and presentations.
  • Solid understanding of finance process flows and internal control concepts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to explain technical accounting matters to non-finance stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Experience facilitating workshops and influencing cross-functional groups.
  • Knowledge of the medical or pharmaceutical sector is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently in ambiguous situations and to make sound decisions.
  • Fluency in English
