Job Description
Job Title: Quality Control Supervisor
Location: Thousand Oaks, CA
About the role:
The QC Supervisor is responsible for shaping, and monitoring daily operations, activities, and workflow for the team. You will ensure the implementation of testing standards, policies and ensures safety measures are followed. Additionally, the supervisor supports laboratory personnel with performance, development, feedback and other areas.
This position will work Wednesday- Saturday.
How you will contribute:
Daily Operations: Plan and organize daily laboratory tasks including production, scheduling, staffing, and material management.
Compliance & Quality: Implement and ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, GLP, cGMP) and testing SOPs.
Documentation & Reporting: Ensure accurate completion of all tests and laboratory documentation; prepare SOPs, reports, protocols, and memos.
Equipment Management: Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain lab equipment; ensure equipment maintenance and calibration.
Audit Readiness: Participate in internal and external audits, ensuring plant audit readiness and responding to observations.
Training & Development: Conduct training, provide feedback, and coach staff to improve team performance.
Process Improvement: Lead technical reviews, investigations, and process improvement projects to increase efficiency and quality.
Safety & Best Practices: Ensure laboratory safety, handle biohazardous materials properly, and apply good laboratory practices.
Quality Systems Management: Oversee changes within quality systems and support global document reviews for local compliance.
Communication: Write detailed investigation summaries, memos, and participate in proactive functions that solve problems and support new products.
What you bring to Takeda:
Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences of microbiology strongly preferred.
Minimum 3 years of related work experience; leadership experience is preferred.
Experience in laboratory, biotechnology, pharmaceutical or similar GMP manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
Documented/Certified training in DMAIC and LEAN concepts a plus.
Important Considerations
At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:
- In general, it's a combination of sedentary work, walking around the lab and supporting the daily activities as needed.
- May work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.
- Will need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
- May work in a cold, hot or wet environment.
- May work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.
- Able to work 4 days a week, 10 hours a day including weekends and possibly holidays.
- May require availability outside regular business hours and/or on-call support.
- Able to work more than a 40-hour work week and adjust shift as needed.

84,000.00 - 132,000.00The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S.based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
