About the role

Takeda’s manufacturing site in Round Lake, Illinois, produces life-saving therapeutics for patients worldwide. The Internal Communications Associate Manager supports the execution of internal communications priorities and day-to-day channel operations that help employees access and understand key information. The role drafts and coordinates content, supports leader communications logistics, and maintains internal communications channels, aligning to established site and enterprise messaging and guidance.

How you will contribute

Communications duties:

  • Coordinate and execute internal communications deliverables (content development, publishing, distribution) that support site priorities and align to established communications direction, key messages, and guidance set by site and enterprise communications leadership. External communications support is coordinated through designated communications partners as needed.
  • Draft, edit, and proofread content for internal channels (e.g., email, intranet, town halls, leadership updates), incorporating stakeholder input and required reviews.
  • Manage and update internal communication channels (e.g., intranet pages, newsletters, digital signage), including basic publishing, content refreshes, and adherence to established standards/templates.
  • Coordinate employee events, town halls, and leadership forums, including logistics coordination, speaker support, run-of-show, and preparation of presentation materials.
  • Produce multimedia content (e.g., short videos, visuals, slide decks) to support storytelling and engagement, within established messaging and brand guidance.
  • Ensure business review decks meet Takeda formatting standards; format and quality-check executive-ready materials.
  • Ensure communications align with brand, tone of voice, and company values; route content through appropriate reviewers as required.
  • Track and report effectiveness (e.g., open rates, views, feedback) and suggest tactical improvements to content and channel usage.
  • Support change and transformation initiatives by drafting communications, coordinating stakeholder inputs, and supporting deployment of approved messaging.
  • Gather employee feedback; apply insights to improve communication practices and channels; and share key themes and risks with site and communications leadership as appropriate.

Administrative / site head support:

  • Manage the site leader’s calendar and schedule meetings; coordinate meeting logistics and travel (bookings, itineraries, expenses); respond to scheduling- and meeting-related inquiries.
  • Maintain electronic and physical files, records, and documentation to support smooth, audit-ready operations; coordinate routine administrative and office needs as required.
  • Support meeting preparation and follow-up (agendas, minutes, action item tracking) and coordinate Viva Engage photo/content support as needed.
  • Facilitate New Hire Orientation, coordinating required logistics (e.g., security badges).
  • Support team events/workshops/training; process purchase orders, invoices, and expense reports; streamline administrative processes.

What you bring to Takeda

Education & experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in communications, marketing, or related roles.
  • Internal communications experience preferred.
  • Experience writing for diverse audiences (e.g., employee, community, customer-facing) preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing/operations environment; and/or the pharma, med tech, or healthcare industry (or agency experience) is a plus.

Capabilities and qualifications

  • Experience producing engaging multimedia content for internal audiences, including basic video planning and editing (e.g., scripting, filming, post-production); familiarity with common video editing tools (Adobe or equivalent) and enterprise video hosting platforms to deliver clear, on-brand communications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to translate complex information into clear, concise messages.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information and sensitive leadership communications.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships across functions and levels, quickly learn site operations and culture, and operate as an embedded partner supporting delivery of leader communications and site engagement activities.
  • Proficiency with common workplace and communications tools (e.g., Microsoft 365, collaboration tools, and intranet/content platforms).
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills, including creating and formatting executive-ready presentations aligned to Takeda standards.
  • Strong time management and attention to detail; able to manage multiple priorities with moderate supervision.
  • Experience with commonly used communications and multimedia tools (e.g., Microsoft 365, intranet/content platforms, and video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro or equivalent); familiarity with enterprise video hosting solutions preferred.

Important considerations

Physical demands & working environment

  • Work is primarily sedentary in an office setting; walking throughout the site and between buildings may be required; personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when visiting manufacturing facilities.

Other Job Requirements

  • This position supports a manufacturing site and requires an on-site presence five days per week, and travel to the local manufacturing facility as needed.

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$99,500.00 - $156,420.00


The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location. 

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
