OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE:
Target Validation Sciences(TVS)は、研究部門内のDrug Discovery Units (DDU) やプラットフォーム組織と緊密に協力して生物学薬剤標的検証を推進し、ヒトの生物学を反映する最先端の生物学的プラットフォームを使用して薬剤標的を検証することを目的とした研究組織です。
•    消化器・炎症・自己免疫疾患領域におけるターゲット検証関連活動において科学的なリーダーシップを発揮し、TVS内のすべてのメンバーだけでなく一つのチームとして働く社内研究組織のメンバーとの協業をすすめること。
•    免疫学、リウマチ学、皮膚科学の専門知識を活用して、消化器・炎症・自己免疫疾患領域の薬剤発見のためのターゲット検証の研究活動を主導し、仮説を立て、設計し、実行してパイプライン開発を加速すること。
•    内部および外部のステークホルダーと積極的に協力して、先進技術を導入し、タイムリーなターゲット検証を達成する事。
•    組織のミッションとビジョンを共有し、多様で包括的な科学文化を実現するためのイニシアティブを実施し、プロジェクト管理の運営効率を確保することで組織の発展に貢献すること。

The purpose of Target Validation Sciences is to drive biological target validation by collaborating closely with Drug Discovery Units (DDU) and other platform functions. It focuses on validating drug targets using cutting-edge biological platforms that reflect relevant human biology.

•    Provide scientific leadership on target validation-related activities in gastrointestinal (GI) , inflammation and autoimmune disease therapeutic area and facilitates project team members in working as one team with all members within TVS and further within Research organization.
•    Lead, hypothesize, design, and execute research activities for target validation in drug discovery to accelerate pipeline development by lever-aging expertise in immunology, rheumatology, and dermatology.
•    Proactively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to introduce advanced tech-nologies to ensure timely target validation outputs.
•    Contribute to organizational development by sharing the departmental mission and vision, implementing initiatives for a diverse and inclusive scientific culture, and ensuring operatio-nal excellence in project management.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

•    限られた監督の下で薬剤標的検証に必要な複雑なアッセイを開発し、科学的議論を主導し、免疫学、リウマチ学、皮膚科学分野の専門科学者として意思決定に貢献する 
•    潜在的な問題をタイムリーに上司に報告し、シニアリーダーシップとラボ研究者の間の架け橋としてラボでの実験をリードする
•    すべての実験プロトコルとレポートをレビューして研究活動の品質を維持する 
•    信頼関係をメンバーと築き、才能あるメンバーを育成し、そのパフォーマンスを評価する 
•    開放的で自由な科学文化を実現するための環境を整備する 
•    重要な外部コラボレーション共同研究者とを特定し、関係を構築し、コラボレーションを達成する

•    Collaborate with supervisor and stakeholders to develop strategy of biological target validation to support drug discovery program starts
•    Partner with groups performing target identification to select targets for target validation and design, execute, and interpret functional in vitro, in vivo and/or ex vivo experiments required to validate these targets for program starts in the GI, and inflammation and autoimmune disease therapeutic area
•    Lead to develop, and validate relevant complex assays for target validation under limited supervision
•    Lead scientific discussions and contribute to decision-making as a professional scientist in immunology, rheumatology and dermatology field.
•    Reports and consults with the supervisor on potential issues in a timely manner and serve as a bridge between senior members and union members to ensure that empowered group members are fully competent in their daily work.
•    Review all experimental protocols and reports to maintain the quality of research activities.
•    Foster deep mutual trust with members, develop talented members and evaluate their performance
•    Implement initiatives and best practices to ensure an open and free scientific culture rich in diversity
•    Identify, engage, and ensure the success of key external collaborations

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: 

Education

Education
•    Ph.D in immunology, rheumatology or dermatology or a related discipline.
•    Minimum of 8 years of industry experience, including 5 years in fields in immunology drug discovery or minimum 5 years  of academic experience in Immunology, rheumatologyrheumatology, or dermatology field


Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise  
•    In-depth knowledge of the drug discovery process.
•   Extensive experience in immunology, rheumatologyrheumatology, and/or dermatology.
•    Proficiency with in vitro and/or in vivo preclinical models.
•    Proven track record of accomplishments (publications, patents).
