OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE

  • Provide dedicated HR support to ICSS leaders and employees, with a primary focus on Mexico while also contributing to global initiatives across the DD&T and ICSS organizations.

  • Collaborate closely with HR Business Leaders (HRBLs) HR Business Partners (HRBP), Talent Leads, People & Labor Relations (PLR), Centers of Excellence and Innovation (COEIs), and Function/Business Leaders to contextualize, deploy, and embed the Function’s “People Agenda” - including organizational effectiveness, talent development, engagement & belonging, lifelong learning, talent acquisition, HR operations and data-driven people insights.

  • Champion an exceptional employee experience by partnering with local managers (including local Management) and teams to drive individual and team effectiveness. Handle escalated issues with a solutions-oriented approach, ensure seamless execution of HR cycles and policies, and implement feedback mechanisms to continuously improve service delivery.

SCOPE:

The HR Business Partner supports the ICC in Mexico, driving strategic HR initiatives across multiple areas/functions. This role partners with business leaders to address complex talent and organizational challenges, aligning people strategies with ICC and global priorities. It blends hands-on HR delivery/operations with forward-looking, data-driven solutions to build workforce capability and accelerate performance.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Deliver an exceptional people experience within the ICC in Mexico and broader ICSS organization, enabling employees to thrive and contribute to Takeda’s mission.

  • Contextualize, deploy, and embed ICSS-wide “People” initiatives—spanning organizational effectiveness, engagement & belonging, lifelong learning, talent development, acquisition, and people analytics.

  • Support effectiveness of assigned leaders and teams; coach managers, guide new leader integration, enable development, and elevate overall team performance.

  • Implement talent programs such as internships, early career rotations, and talent reviews in partnership with Talent Management leads and HR Business Leaders (HRBLs).

  • Provide consultation on performance management, development planning, and employee growth initiatives across assigned groups.

  • Support the implementation of local talent acquisition strategies; partner with ICSS TA leads on brand positioning, process execution, and recruitment insights.

  • Collaborate with Total Rewards COEI and local stakeholders to manage job leveling, offers, mobility, and annual performance and reward alignment, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with local and ICSS priorities.

  • Partner with Regional/Local PLR team to manage employee relations, supporting conflict resolution, performance plans, investigations, ethics and compliance.

  • Manage organizational changes and restructuring efforts with strong focus on project execution, change management, and local context.

  • Act as a steward of the employee experience, resolving escalated queries, translating engagement feedback into actions, and deploying tailored communication and engagement plans.

  • Coordinate cyclical talent processes (e.g., performance, succession, compensation) ensuring high-quality, consistent delivery across the ICC and aligned ICSS functions.

  • Provide actionable people insights for ICC Mexico (e.g., exit/stay interviews, turnover trends, ER themes), offering solutions and interventions where needed.

  • Support workforce planning for key roles, ensuring readiness through strategic hiring, succession, and pipeline development.

  • Collaborate across HRBLs, HR Partners, Takeda People Solutions, COEIs, and ICSS stakeholders (e.g., Finance, Legal, IT) to co-develop and embed practical, impactful HR solutions.

  • Contribute to shaping the direction of the ICSS HR team, identifying opportunities to scale best practices across the function globally.

  • Participate in global HR and transformation projects, supporting the evolution of HR delivery and operating models, and applying ICC-specific knowledge to develop sustainable new ways of working.

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree required, masters degree preferred

  • 6+ years general human resource experience, will consider equivalent talent management, talent acquisition, change management or organization effectiveness with broad responsibilities.  Prior experience working in top tier consulting firm is a plus

  • Experience working with Corporate Functions and/or supporting a complex global organization undergoing transformation is a plus

  • Strategic Agility - strategic enterprise thinker who finds innovative ways to develop solutions. Exceptional ability to translate an agenda aligned to a function’s future focused objectives, deploy it and deliver results

  • Industry and HR Knowledge – understands the pharmaceutical industry and business. Curious and up to date on current and possible future trends related to broad spectrum of HR practices. Solid understanding of global laws, government regulations and work/ councils/unions

  • Communication – ability to communicate ideas and data both verbally and written in a persuasive and appropriate manner

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • This is a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of 10 days per month in the office.

  • Ability to fly to meetings regionally and globally Travel Requirements – Willingness to travel to various meetings or client sites, including overnight trips. Domestic and international travel will be required, estimated 10%.
