Job Description
OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE:
Provides leadership and development to CPA planning leads to ensure innovative and robust global clinical supply chain strategies are developed and implemented to ensure continuity of clinical supplies to successfully meet program and study milestones across all Therapeutic Area Units. Proactively identifies and drives the development, execution, and implementation of cross functional initiatives that improve planning processes and systems, enhance stakeholder relationships, and provide significant value to the business Optimize and evolve global and regional clinical supply chain strategies and planning principles. Measure, assess effectiveness, and implement continuous improvements as required to deliver best in industry clinical supply chain strategies Serves as an influential leader within Takeda and external to Takeda, contributing to cross-functional initiatives.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Responsible for leading a team of planning professionals and ensuring robust procedures, tools, and technology are in place to strategically deliver optimum clinical supply to support all Therapeutic Areas in a consistent and predictable manner. Including all Takeda sponsored studies, IISR’s, partnered studies (if applicable), and Post Trial Access (Compassionate Use, Named Patient programs)
Ensures line management and key stakeholders are apprised of developments that may impact clinical supply chain, exercising sound judgement and communicating in a professional and timely manner. Demonstrates ability to anticipate risks and responsible for developing solutions to identified risks and discussing with direct reports and management; understands probabilities of success for the solutions.
Establishes strong stakeholder relationships and drives effective collaboration with Clinical Operations, PharmSci, GSQ, TAU’s, GMA, MPG, PSDQ, Regulatory, and other stakeholders .
Represent CPA as a primary interface for key stakeholders and on key cross functional projects
Establishes (as required), leads and evolves Clinical Supply Chain governance forums to support the business needs including Clinical and Operations Planning process (CS&OP), Monthly Governance forum (to assess new studies for complexity and vendor allocation strategy), and other forums as applicable.
Accountable for demand and supply planning of Drug Substance and Drug Product, inventory planning, and adherence to business targets while ensuring regulatory and compliance frameworks.
Works closely with the Business Process Excellence and Digital Strategy team to identify and drive opportunities to leverage data and insights to drive improvements in planning and supply strategy.
Drives improvements and utilization of Smart Supplies Forecasting & Planning and ensures the effective and consistent utilization of Smart Supplies across GCSC and PharmSci team
Supports Due Diligence efforts to provide input on behalf of PharmSci
Maintains enterprise view of clinical supply chain connecting clinical operations, PharmSci, regulatory, GMA, QA, and commercial manufacturing (GSQ) perspectives across the development portfolio
Responsible for bringing significant industry expertise to the team and guiding/mentoring junior members of the team to build and maintain strong planning capabilities within GCSC
Stays current with latest developments on regulatory and industry landscape and best practices on the clinical supply chain arena
Responsible for demonstrating Takeda leadership behaviors.

Comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and significant job-related experience in global Clinical Supply planning, forecasting, including systems and tools for supply planning and forecasting ( i.e., Smart Supplies, SAP, etc.)

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Pharmacy, Supply Chain/Logistics or related discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
15+ years pharmaceutical industry experience with experience in clinical supply chain management (preferred), planning, Commercial supply chain management, CMC development, Clinical Operations or related discipline, experience working with CMC Teams
Significant job-related experience in global Clinical Supply planning, forecasting, including systems and tools for supply planning and forecasting( i.e., Smart Supplies, SAP, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse internal and external groups toward development of globalized approaches to Clinical Supplies project fulfillment.
Demonstrated strong and effective leadership capabilities including the ability to successfully deliver complex cross functional initiatives
High-level relationship building and influencing skills – can gain buy-in for ideas and proposals, and generate consensus among stakeholders

Boston, MAU.S. Base Salary Range:
$208,200.00 - $327,140.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
