Job Description

OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE

  • Enhancing Efficiency and Quality: Streamline processes to optimize resource utilization and improve the quality of outputs.
  • Ensuring Compliance and Risk Management: Establish governance frameworks to ensure compliance with regulations and manage risks effectively. Develop and adopt data quality principles, implement data governance frameworks. Partner with Stakeholders, R&D Global Quality and RDD&T.
  • Data Standards, Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in process management. Collaborate with Data Standards and Interoperability Lead, Research data stewards, to define consistent global data definitions, ensure data integrity, and monitor overall data quality per established policies.
  • Strategic Alignment and Stakeholder Satisfaction: Align process optimization efforts with organizational goals to meet stakeholders’ needs and drive performance.
  • Implement and Monitor Process Improvements: Assess, design, and implement internal control frameworks around data management, data quality, and partner on data governance. Collaborating with stakeholders to understand their needs and integrate them into governance and optimization strategies. Developing and tracking performance indicators to assess process improvements and governance effectiveness (including FAIR measurable metrics).

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Data Governance: Establishing policies and procedures for maintaining data quality and integrity across the organization.
  • Quality Assurance: Implementing and monitoring data quality standards to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data.
  • Data Assessments: Conducting regular assessments to identify and rectify data discrepancies or inconsistencies.
  • Data Cleansing: Leading efforts to clean and validate data, removing inaccuracies and redundancies.
  • Metadata Management: Overseeing the management of metadata to support data governance and enhance understanding of data sources and usage.
  • Reporting: Developing reports and dashboards to provide insights into data quality status and improvements.
  • Training and Education: Providing training and resources to employees on data quality best practices and standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data quality processes and practices.
  • Documenting Processes: Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for processes, ensuring that all updates are recorded accurately for reference and training. Writing and maintaining Compliance policy for Research
  • Compliance Assessments: Conducting regular assessments to verify adherence to governance policies and identifying areas needing improvement.
  • Data Analysis: Using data analytics tools to gather insights from process performance metrics, and leveraging these insights to guide optimization efforts.
  • Technology Integration: Evaluating and integrating technological solutions that support process optimization and enhance governance frameworks.
  • Change Management: Partner with TDSC change management lead on initiatives related to process improvements, effectively communicating changes, and supporting teams through transitions.
  • Feedback Loop Implementation: Establishing feedback mechanisms to capture insights from stakeholders on process efficacy and governance.
  • Reporting: Preparing reports for leadership that highlight process improvement milestones, governance compliance status, and areas needing attention.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Working closely with different departments across research to ensure governance and process optimization efforts are synchronized with organizational objectives.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • Passionate about leading cultural change towards the efficient use and re-use of data, as a robust foundation for AI/ ML.
  • Ability to influence a wide context of stakeholders towards implementation of FAIR data principles
  • Proactive, innovative, with good problem-solving skills
  • Strong collaboration skills, with demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and drive alignment across key stakeholders, including executive level.
  • Strong influencing, communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across functions, regions and cultures.

Education:

  • PhD degree in a scientific discipline in information technology, chemistry, pharmacology, or life sciences with 6+ years experience , or MS with 12+ years experience, or BS with 14+ years experience of information strategy in pharmaceutical/biotech industry.

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$149,100.00 - $234,300.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S.based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
