About the role:

As a Senior Software Tester in the Customer Data Platform (CDP) space within the Plasma-Derived Therapies (PDT) business unit, you will be responsible for quality assurance, ensuring each software product adheres to the highest standards and meets specified requirements. Your contributions will be crucial in enhancing our testing methodologies and maintaining standard operating procedures. Collaborating closely with multiple stakeholders, you will design and execute test cases and scenarios that cover functional, non-functional, and negative aspects of the System.  

By planning, execution, and reporting of testing activities to ensure the product / feature meets all specifications and requirements, this role directly contributes to PDT’s ability to harness data effectively, enhancing decision-making capabilities, and ultimately, competitive advantage in the market. You will be adopting cutting-edge technologies and methodologies which will help Takeda drive innovation, adapt to new opportunities, and continuously evolve in an ever-changing business/technological landscape.  

This position will align to Testing and Validation Chapter of the ICC and initially report to the Functional Delivery Lead for strategic direction as well as day-to-day management until the role of Donor Engagement Automation/Execution QA is filled within Takeda ICC, post which the reporting and managerial responsibilities will be transitioned accordingly.

How you will contribute:

• Lead core execution teams, providing clear direction and effective delegation
• Mentor and support junior team members, facilitating their development and addressing any concerns
• Serve as a vital link between the execution layer and the management layer, ensuring seamless communication and alignment
• Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test scenarios, and test cases for Salesforce Data Cloud flow, covering the entire process from source data ingestion to target activations.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
• Identify, document, and track defects throughout the testing process.
• Analyze test results and provide detailed reports on the quality of the product.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and support end-users during the UAT phase.
• Ensure that all testing activities are conducted in accordance with the defined testing standards and procedures.
• Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Provide training and support to junior QA team members.
• Stay updated with the latest testing tools, frameworks, and best practices. Participate in improving the testing process and workflows.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a similar field required. Master's degree in a similar field would be a plus
• 5-8 years of experience as a QA, with hands-on expertise in various testing tools such as JIRA, Zephyr, ALM, Confluence etc
• Strong understanding of the Salesforce platform and its data management capabilities with experience in Salesforce Data Cloud
• Strong SQL knowledge and experience with data querying.
• Good knowledge of Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrate ability to interpret and work with data (e.g., dashboards, reports, data quality concepts) and understanding of AI/ML fundamentals to adapt to emerging technology trends, identify opportunities for intelligent automation/insights within Salesforce, and make data-informed decisions.

Preferred requirements:

• Experience with Agile / Scrum methodologies
• Understanding of data integration and ETL processes
• Knowledge of complex SQL, SOQL and API handling
• Experience / knowledge of tools such as DBeaver, POSTMAN, DataBricks etc
• Good understanding of Data Cloud concepts and overall flow
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
• Certification in Salesforce Data Cloud/Marketing Cloud would be a plus
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Shell scripting would be a plus
• Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner would be a plus
