Objectives/Purpose:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, data architects, analysts, and product teams to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable data engineering solutions.
  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and data integration frameworks to ingest, process, and transform data from multiple enterprise and external sources.
  • Build and manage reliable, scalable ETL/ELT pipelines supporting batch and near real-time data processing.
  • Develop and maintain data models and curated datasets that support analytics, reporting, and data-driven applications.
  • Integrate data across enterprise platforms, operational systems, and external data sources to create unified and trusted datasets.
  • Implement data quality checks, validation frameworks, and monitoring mechanisms to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data.
  • Support data governance and metadata management initiatives, ensuring proper data lineage, cataloging, and stewardship.
  • Optimize data processing performance and ensure scalability and efficiency of data pipelines.
  • Enable data accessibility and self-service analytics by providing well-structured, documented, and governed datasets.
  • Implement data security, privacy, and compliance controls aligned with enterprise policies.
  • Work closely with Data & Analytics teams to support advanced analytics, machine learning, and operational dashboards.
  • Participate in testing, deployment, and operational support of data solutions across development, staging, and production environments.

Education, Behavioral Competencies, and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in data engineering, data integration, or data platform development.
  • Strong experience developing data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows using modern data engineering tools and frameworks.
  • Experience working with SQL and large-scale data processing frameworks.
  • Experience with data platforms such as Databricks, Spark, or similar distributed processing systems.
  • Experience integrating data from multiple structured and unstructured data sources.
  • Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with data lake, Lakehouse or data warehouse architecture.
  • Experience implementing data quality validation, monitoring, and data pipeline orchestration.
  • Experience working with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Experience using version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices for data engineering.
  • Experience supporting analytics, reporting, and data science teams with curated datasets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with attention to data accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills to explain technical data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to work in Agile environments and adapt to evolving data requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Databricks, Apache Spark, or similar big data processing frameworks.
  • Familiarity with data orchestration tools such as Airflow or similar workflow schedulers.
  • Experience implementing data governance, data cataloging, and metadata management frameworks.
  • Knowledge of data lineage, data quality frameworks, and data observability tools.
  • Experience supporting machine learning pipelines and advanced analytics workloads.
  • Familiarity with real-time or streaming data platforms (e.g., Kafka or event-driven architecture).
  • Exposure to containerization and cloud-native data engineering practices.
  • Understanding data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance standards.
