Job Description

About the role:

As an ERP Specialist, you will serve as first level of functional support and primary point of contact for day-to-day application questions and issues, with a primary focus on ERP solutions and their interfaces with related companion applications to enable smooth, reliable business processes, while coordinating with key stakeholders. You will identify and drive opportunities for process improvement, automation, reporting, and data analytics by applying foundational supply chain management principles and digital skills to support operational excellence. You will report to the ERP Manager.

How you will contribute:

  • Provide effective first-line ERP functional support in a cross-functional, international environment.
  • Receive, log, prioritize, and resolve user-reported issues via phone, chat, email, and ticketing systems.
  • Analyze user needs and production issues; deliver timely day-to-day ERP support and workable solutions.
  • Troubleshoot incidents end-to-end, perform root cause analysis (e.g., 5W1H/FMEA), and implement corrective actions.
  • Proactively identify emerging issues, coordinate resolution with the appropriate support teams, and escalate to Global ERP/SMEs when needed.
  • Support Covington intercompany/intracompany ERP transactions and interface/standalone transaction monitoring (including alert triage and failed-transaction resolution).
  • Create and maintain ERP reports (e.g., JDE/ReportsNow) and track/report service performance against SLAs.
  • Maintain a support knowledge base; analyze recurring issues and drive improvements to reduce repeat incidents.
  • Document and sustain processes (workflows, SOPs, job aids, work instructions), deliver end-user training, and support enhancements through the SDLC (requirements, specs, testing/UAT, go-live), including automation and analytics using tools such as SQL, Python, and Power BI.

  • Learn & Develop BOTs, Chat BOTs etc.

What you bring to Takeda:

  • Bachelor of Science
  • 3 to 5 yrs. experience in support role.
  • Experience in GxP environment like GDP, GMP etc.
  • Experience in working in Pharmaceuticals Industry
  • Proficiency in Office 365 / Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software
  • Good coordination and communication skills
  • Experience in Change Management
  • Knowledge on JDEdwards or SAP ERP added advantage
  • Experience working in JDE 9.2 Version onwards ERP system in various modules including but not limited to Inventory Management, Product Data Management, Procurement Management, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Management, Warehouse Management, Sales & Logistics Management, Finance Management etc. for Process & Discrete Manufacturing along with JDE interfacing with other 3 rd party software/s Data governance
  • Knowledge of ERP databases, common tables, and relationships between them
  • Ability to prototype, test, walk thru business processes in test system

Important Considerations:

At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:

  • Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.
  • Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
  • Some Clean Room and cool/hot storage conditions.
  • Work in a cold, wet environment.
  • Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.
  • Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 10 lbs.
  • In general, the position requires a combination of sedentary work and walking around observing conditions in the facility.
  • May require occasional off-shift support.
  • May be required to work in a confined area.
  • May be required to travel for business reasons, e.g., training and meetings.

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$71,800.00 - $112,860.00


The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location. 

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
