Job Description

    ROLE OBJECTIVE :

    Ideally based in Milano, the Value & Access Regional Manager will be mainly responsible for:

    • Achieve local Market Access objectives by executing Takeda’s access strategy through a deep understanding of the regional environment and healthcare policies, analyzing regional and local buying processes, and meeting deadlines in collaboration with the Regional Access Head.
    • Develop and implement value-based partnerships with Regional Institutions, delivering mutual benefits for all stakeholders within the Italian NHS ecosystem.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Market Access Strategy:

    • Oversee the entire access process of Takeda products into pharmaceutical formularies (at regional and account level), including the tender and post-tender purchasing processes.
    • Support Accounts in authorization procedures for the use of Takeda products.
    • Assist Accounts in budget negotiations with their Region, also using health economics tools provided by the company (budget impact models, etc.).

    Insights & Competitive Intelligence:

    • Monitor healthcare management and pharmaceutical spending policies at regional and account levels leveraging AI tools for policy monitoring and data analysis.
    • Stay informed and up to date on best practices and new developments in the territory, including political or policy changes and new market entrants.
    • Gather information from stakeholders at regional and account levels using CRM workflows on:
      • Members and organization of regional boards and commissions
      • Pharmaceutical procurement and distribution processes, policies, and guidelines
      • Members and organization of Central Buying Organizations in the Region.
      • Tenders at regional and account levels with the support of tender digital platform.
      • Regional and account guidelines for tender management and drug prescription.
    • Outline buying processes at regional/district/account levels with the Regional Access Head.
    • Propose business cases to the Takeda Pricing Committee to identify business opportunities.
    • Share information with other field roles and headquarters through regional scenario analysis that highlight opportunities/threats using CRM workflows and automation tools to streamline account management.
    • Monitor pharmaceutical product distribution in the territory and gather insights on the consumption of Takeda’s and competitors’ products.
    • Promote Takeda’s commercial strategy with accounts’ pharmacists responsible for field distribution to regulate order frequency.

    Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Promote the sustainability and appropriateness of Takeda therapeutic solutions with regional and account stakeholders using digital tools provided by the company (budget impact models, etc.).
    • Ensure effective relationships with procurement authorities and key target audiences to create high-level partnerships, in accordance with market access policies and business development objectives.
    • Support regional stakeholders in NHS efficiency initiatives and engage account stakeholders to enhance resource availability.
    • Manages and promotes value-based partnership.

    Territory Planning:

    • Lead the CFRT (cross-functional regional team), supporting BUs to find the best solution to achieve business objectives, in compliance with law and internal compliance guidelines.
    • In Top Accounts is responsible for collecting and sharing all insights from the different Business Units through CRM workflow to ensure a comprehensive view of all activities, seamless execution of initiatives, and foster synergistic collaboration among the various functions operating within the Account.
    • Monitor and critically review the implementation of tactical plans against key performance indicators/critical success factors, taking corrective action as required in agreement with the Regional Access Head.
    • Contribute, alongside the Patient Journey Manager and Patient Care Manager, to initiatives that support awareness and referral.
    • Collaborate with MSL in managing Regional Key Opinion leaders.

    SKILLS and CAPABILITIES

    Education and Experience:

    • University Degree.
    • Good written and spoken English (Level B1).
    • 3 years of resources leading and management is a plus.

    Skills:

    • Knowledge of the Italian market, healthcare policy, payer mindset, and pharmaco-economic principles.
    • Proven efficacy in complex negotiations.
    • Scientific expertise and understanding of health economics principles.
    • Ability to plan, start, and control projects using core project management principles and tools.
    • Concise and effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work in a team and engage in strategic networking.
    • Customer Centricity: identifies lateral and vertical relationships, leverages value for Takeda by linking decision-makers. Gives priority to building long-term relationships with key contacts. Seeks genuine win-win outcomes for both parties by delivering value.

    • Experience with digital tender management tools for tender tracking, procurement analysis and competitive intelligence.
    • Continuous learning in emerging AI/automation trends in pharma access and market policy.
    • Use of digital collaboration platforms to enhance cross-functional teamwork.

    Physical Demands:

    • Ability to drive or fly to attend meetings, audits, and training.

    Travel Requirements:

    • Willingness to travel, being away from home.
    • Valid and clean driver’s license.
