Job Description
About the role:
The GMAO Strategy & Operations Manager is responsible for driving strategic planning, operational excellence, and supporting cross-functional team effectiveness within Takeda’s Global Medical Affairs – Oncology. This role involves change management, communication planning, and enhancing team collaboration to contribute to the overall success of Global Medical Affairs team effectiveness and operations.
How you will contribute:
Partner with GMAO leadership to prioritize and operationalize key strategic initiatives.
Collaborate with OBU PMO to optimize GMAOs process for efficient and timely annual planning (Strategic Planning, Budgeting, Tactical Planning, etc) deliverables
Manage logistics, documentation, and communication for medical affairs S&O projects
Partner with Global Medical Leads to optimize meeting management and team effectiveness for GMA core and strategic teams.
Manage planning and communication for the implementation of new initiatives to enhance team effectiveness and operational efficiency.
Act as super user planning, tracking, and reporting on medical plans
Act as a liaison across key stakeholders, fostering collaboration with cross-functional teams (e.g., R&D, Commercial, Regulatory).
Foster collaboration and alignment, liaising across cross-functional departments and cross regions/LOCs.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business administration, or related field
4+ years of experience in strategy, operations, or project management within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, preferably in Oncology
Strong understanding of Medical Affairs functions, oncology therapeutic areas, and cross-matrix collaboration.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and analytical skills with a proactive problem-solving mindset.
Proficient in project management tools, reporting software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster teamwork and drive results.
Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global environment with shifting priorities.
Understand finance principles and apply them in managing project budgets
Strategic thinker with experience in facilitating organizational success through effective planning and operational management.
Expertise in cross-functional matrix team collaborations, with the ability to manage internal/external relationships across organizations and leadership levels.
Strong storytelling skills in synthesizing data and delivering actionable insights.
Executes change management initiatives independently
Manages programs independently, provides guidance in complex scenarios
Innovates and makes improvement recommendations, guides others in creative processes
Manages priorities independently, anticipates needs, and coaches others

Boston, MAU.S. Base Salary Range:
$116,000.00 - $182,270.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
