The Opportunity

As a Software Engineer – Process Modelling, you will design and deliver solutions that enable real-time modelling and optimization of complex processes,leveragingadvanced engineering platforms.You will actively contribute to an agile team,participatingin technical discussions and ceremonies to shape clear, implementable user stories. In this role, you will help build and evolve a cutting-edge digital capability that strengthens Takeda’s ability to simulate, analyze, and enhance critical processes,ultimately supportingbetter outcomes for patients and healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, andmaintainsoftware solutions supporting real-time process modelling and simulation,leveragingengineering platforms such as EmersonReal-TimeSchedulingand primarily using C/C++,SQLand related technologies.

• Develop and integrate components that enable modelling, simulation, and analysis of complex processes.

• Build and evolve systems of medium-to-high complexity witha high levelof autonomy, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.

• Collaborate with process engineers, domain experts, and cross-functional teams to translate process requirements into robust digital solutions.

• Develop high-quality, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices in software engineering and system design.

• Implement reusable components and frameworks to support consistency and efficiency across modelling applications.

• Ensure high performance of modelling and simulation workloads, including profiling, optimization, and tuning.

• Contribute to visualization and user interaction layers whererequired, enabling effective interpretation of model outputs and simulation results.

• Write andmaintainunit and integration tests to ensure solution quality, stability, and correctness.

• Participate actively in agile ceremonies, contributing to backlog refinement, estimation, and continuous delivery of product increments.

• Collaborate with team members through code reviews and incorporate feedback to continuously improve solution quality.

• Work with Product Owners and stakeholders todemonstratefunctionality andvalidatesolutions against requirements.

• Support the development and adoption of innovative digital solutions that enhance Takeda’s capabilities in process modelling, simulation, and data-driven decision making.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree inComputerScience, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, ora related field.

• 4+years of experience in software development, withproficiencyin at least one programming language (e.g., C++, C#,SQL, or Python) and interest in developing skills in C++ and process modelling environments.

• Hands-on experience with C/C++like language(s)and solid understanding of object-oriented design, memory management, and performance optimization.

• Experience developing or integrating process modelling, simulation, or real-time systems, preferably with platforms such as EmersonReal-Time Schedulingor similar engineering toolsis a plus!

• Experience working with data processing, numerical methods, or simulation algorithms is anadvantage!

• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including process engineers and business teams.

• Self-driven withstrongownership mindset and ability to deliver outcomes with minimal supervision.

• Strong collaboration skills and a team-oriented mindset, comfortable working in cross-functional and global environments.

• Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with evolving technologies and engineering practices.

• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
