OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE

This is a senior role with responsibility for growing our business across 2 priority growth therapy areas of focus. It provides excellent opportunities for further career and personal growth within the organization:

  • You will have visibility and access to 3 senior executive leadership teams (Global PDT Leadership Team and both the EUCAN and GEM Executive leadership teams)
  • You will work in close, cross functional partnership with Global, Regional and in market colleagues across the regions
  • Through a combination of strategic leadership and executional leadership, you will manage a broad and diverse range of markets providing a Global, Regional and in market perspective of the Takeda business.

Accountabilities:

Growth responsibilities: Regional strategy build and execution with launch responsibility

  • Growing our business in a priority therapy area of focus
    • Leading a Regional cross functional team in partnership with Global Commercial and cross functional colleagues and in market teams, you will build and execute on a regional specific growth strategy
  • Growing our business in a new therapy area of focus
    • Leading a Regional cross functional team in partnership with Global Commercial and cross functional colleagues and in market teams, you will build and execute on a regional specific growth strategy to establish our presence in a new growth focus therapy area

How you will contribute

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: In partnership with the global commercial team, you will lead 2 regional cross-functional taskforces (including LOC leads, Medical, Access, Digital, Finance) to drive growth and separate therapy area strategies.
  • Strategic Partnership: Working hand in hand with Global Commercial and Head of Regional Commercial Strategy, you will serve as the key Regional PDT Commercial partner to:
    • Drive asset co-creation & adaptation of brand plans, materials, and templates, and seek input as needed through listening sessions.
    • Lead market teams in brand plan build and execution.
    • Build and execute asset strategies to defend and grow our business in an increasingly competitive landscape.
    • Build a geographic expansion strategy for therapy areas.
    • Provide regional commercial input to therapy area workstreams.
    • Join Global Program Teams and/or commercial sub-teams as the regional commercial representative.
    • Collaborate and problem-solve with regional and in market teams to achieve targets and maximize brand performance.

  • Build Strong in market Partnerships: In collaboration with the Regional Commercial Strategy Head, you will build and lead market/region partnering workshops alongside Regional Leads, GMs, and Business Unit Heads to assist in market teams develop and execute market specific therapy area strategies while supporting structured business review feedback, driving prioritization, cross-functional partnership, and the broader Takeda and external ecosystem.
  • International Engagement: In partnership with Global cross-functional colleagues, you will lead region engagement on international congress execution and play a principal role in key opinion leader engagement.
  • Facilitate Best Practices: You will share and scale best learnings, taking a holistic approach to understanding therapy area and launch best practices, learnings, and available resources across the regions to leverage for growth across the regions.
  • Market Analysis and Trends: You will develop and maintain a deep understanding of current and future regional therapy area and market trends, key success factors, and competitive dynamics; holding deep knowledge about the focus therapy areas, treatment approaches, patient journeys, competition, brand strategies, and device ecosystems.
  • Performance and Initiative Development: You will drive and enable the co-creation of region-specific therapy area initiatives, & key performance indicators, and support cross-functional execution by engaging key senior stakeholders.

Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise

  • In this role, you will require a thorough understanding of two distinct but related therapy areas of focus. You will also require strong commercial executional experience to define and deliver on the growth opportunity across therapy areas.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Critical

  • In market cross functional and direct line leadership experience (eg In market Business Unit Head)
  • P&L oversight and responsibility with experience of making tradeoffs in a complex and evolving market
  • Strong communication skills with a proven ability to influence and manage stakeholders in a highly matrixed environment
  • Demonstrated passion, positivity, and determination to drive for results and make a positive impact for patients
  • In Market Launch leadership, with entry into a new therapeutic area preferred

Highly beneficial

  • Regional multi market leadership experience in asset launch, building and executing on asset strategies, and expanding asset reach in partnership with cross functional leaders
  • Global strategic leadership in asset launch / building and executing on global asset strategies
  • Perspective and understanding of global markets and dynamics
  • Strong commercial executional experience navigating the diversity and complexity of multiple markets across a range of market models
