We are currently hiring for a Field Medical Advisor (FMA) Oncology (all genders) at 80% for our Swiss local office in Glattpark (Opfikon).
The Field Medical Advisor (FMA) is responsible for establishing Takeda’s medical presence among external stakeholders, aligning with the therapeutic area's business objectives, and disseminating scientific information in the respective Therapeutic area.
This position requires building and maintaining relationships with key opinion leaders, managing the strategic engagement plan for these stakeholders group, collecting medical insights, and ensuring compliance while facilitating cross-functional collaboration.
This role involves about 70% fieldwork, working with KOLs and other external stakeholders, and 30% office duties.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Building and maintaining professional working relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) through strategic and coordinated strategic planning of external expert engagement.
- Establishing credibility and engaging in scientifically competent discussions with KOLs by possessing profound knowledge of the therapeutic field and therapy options, including competitor products.
- Engaging in in-depth discussions with KOLs and other relevant stakeholders regarding clinical data, research findings, and relevant scientific developments to ensure the accurate and effective dissemination of critical information
- Supporting the medical and scientific strategy by continuously gathering and sharing strategically relevant scientific information and insights within the medical and cross-functional teams.
- Enhancing internal cross-functional scientific knowledge by conducting training on therapeutic area relevant scientific data, disease and unmet needs.
- Support the field force in account planning and provide medical expertise to strengthen field activities.
- Facilitating research initiatives by identifying potential study centers and responding to unsolicited inquiries from HCPs regarding IISRs within their therapeutic area.
- Addressing medical-scientific strategy and external stakeholder needs by utilizing coordinated digital tools and demonstrating comprehensive understanding and execution of Omni-Channel Engagement tactics.
Leadership
- Driving KOL engagement plans and act as a strategic partner to ensure field strategy is aligned with respective therapeutic area medical strategy
- Leading medical field initiatives and collaborate closely cross-functional including medical functions, commercial, market access.
- Act as ambassador for compliance, ethics, and Takeda-ism
SKILLS and Capabilities
Critical Skills/competencies
- Completed studies in Pharmacy, Medicine, or a scientific field (preferably with a PhD)
- Native level of German (preferred) or French; very good conversational English
- Experience in delivering effective scientific oral presentations in healthcare, both in person and via new virtual formats
- Professional experience within pharma, preferable Medical Affairs or clinical research
- Experience working in a cross-functional and/or matrix environment
- High level of agility as well as teamwork skills and enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration
- A good understanding of clinical developments, clinical studies, and their interpretation
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Basic project management knowledge

- Relationship Building: Strong skills in developing and maintaining relationships with KOLs and other external stakeholders.
- Field Expertise: Ability to effectively engage with KOLs in both face-to-face and digital settings.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills for internal training and field force support, as well as for effective interaction with KOLs.
- Leadership and Influence: Demonstrated ability to lead regional consultancy and Medical initiatives, engaging KOLs effectively.
