About the Role:

The Field Medical Advisor (FMA) is Takeda’s scientific ambassador among external stakeholders in GI2 (Gastrointestinal Diseases and Inflammation), with a focus on Inflammatory Bowel Disease. The FMA builds and maintains impactful relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) through in-person and virtual exchange on scientific and medical information and collects actionable medical insights by leveraging AI-driven analytics, advanced CRM, and digital engagement tools. This role champions a culture of continuous learning and digital innovation, ensuring alignment with Takeda’s business and medical strategies while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and cross-functional collaboration.

Approximately 70% fieldwork (covering entire Switzerland) and 30% home-office-based activities.

How you will contribute:

  • KOL Engagement: Build and maintain professional relationships with KOLs through strategic, data-driven engagement planning, utilizing AI-powered analytics and advanced CRM platforms.
  • Scientific Exchange: Lead scientifically robust discussions, ensuring accurate, fair, and balanced dissemination of scientific and clinical evidence across face-to-face and digital channels.
  • Insight Generation: Continuously capture, synthesize, and share medically and strategically relevant insights using digital platforms and AI-driven analytics to inform medical and business strategies.
  • Research Facilitation: Identify potential study centers for Takeda sponsored research and appropriately respond to unsolicited HCP inquiries (e.g., IISRs), ensuring timely and compliant documentation.
  • Cross functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with field colleagues, the medical team, and cross-functional partners to ensure strategic alignment, coordinated execution, and consistent delivery of scientific objectives.
  • Internal Education: Enhance cross-functional scientific knowledge by conducting training and sharing insights on therapeutic area relevant topics via in-person sessions, digital learning platforms and virtual formats (e.g., webinars, microlearning).
  • Commercial Field Force Support: Provide medical expertise and regional/national insights to support account planning and strengthen field activities.
  • Impact Measurement: Establish robust reporting and real-time data capture to assess and refine field activities; ensure accurate CRM entry and high-quality data governance.
  • Compliance & Ethics: Act as an ambassador for compliance, ethics, and Takeda-ism; uphold relevant codes, SOPs, and local regulations.
  • Continuous Learning: Foster self-directed, technology-enabled learning to stay at the forefront of scientific and technological advancements.

Skills and capabilities you bring to the role:

Critical Skills/Competencies

  • Advanced degree in Pharmacy, Medicine, or a scientific field (PhD preferred).
  • Native-level German or French (both languages are a plus); excellent conversational English.
  • Proven ability to deliver effective scientific presentations in both in-person and virtual formats.
  • Professional experience within pharma, ideally in Medical Affairs or clinical research and/or previous experience in gastrointestinal diseases (IBD is preferred).
  • Experience working in cross-functional and/or matrix environments.
  • High digital literacy; proficiency with AI-driven analytics, advanced CRM systems (e.g., Veeva, Salesforce), and digital productivity tools (e.g. PowerAutomate, Planner, Projects, Copilot).
  • Strong interpersonal and scientific communication skills. Understanding of clinical development, clinical studies, and evidence interpretation.
