Job Description
The Development Engineer is responsible for leading and managing engineering operations related to the development of robust, sustainable, and cost-effective processes. This role supports Takeda's mission by ensuring high standards of purity and quality in production processes.
Key responsibilities:
- Conducting and evaluating experiments with animal cell cultures (working with shake flasks, spinners, bioreactors, in-process measurements, filtrations, etc.) while maintaining time and quality standards.
- Operating and monitoring complex technical systems, including bioreactors, process control systems, and analytical instruments.
- Precise documentation of experiments and results according to Good Documentation Practice (GDP) guidelines in written and electronic form.
- Compiling and maintaining experimental raw data.
- Work in a team and take responsibility for higher-level tasks such as ordering consumables and equipment, or shipping materials and samples
Key requirements:
- MSc degree in Life Sciences (e.g. Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or Chemistry) or B.Sc / Higher technical education with 2+ years of relevant experience
- Hands-on experience in working with animal cell cultures, cell banking, bioreactors, or similar laboratory activities.
- Good organization skills and attention to details
- Very good MS-Office skills
- Team work oriented mindset
- Excellent German and English skills (spoken and written).
- Willingness to work in a BSL-1 laboratory.

This position is a fixed-term contract for one year, concluding in April 2026.
