Job Description
As our Medical Science Liaison Gastrointestinal and Inflammation, you will report to the Medical Director, Denmark, and face multiple colleagues and stakeholders locally and in the Nordics. The position is field based, so you should expect to spend up to 60 % of your time in the field, depending on changing circumstances.
You will be working 50% with approved IBD treatments and 50% with pipeline assets.
OBJECTIVES
Establish excellent external relations based on scientific communication and bring scientific insights into the cross-functional team
Be a therapeutic area expert, understand disease and treatment landscape and provide medical expertise and support for the therapeutic areas of responsibility to external stakeholders
Generate and communicate evidence externally
Build strategic value-based partnerships with HCPs
Be Advocate for patient needs and drive collaborative projects with Patient Organizations
Contribute to New Product Planning (NPP) for pipeline products in the Nordics and locally
Capture and share in-field insights in a compliant manner with relevant business functions to support medical and scientific strategy and business development
Seek, collect, organize and share scientific insights about key strategic questions, gaps and projects
Organize and execute interactions with key stakeholders to uncover their needs
Participate in the development and implementation of key medical activities, e.g., Advisory boards, medical education and peer-to-peer training activities
CANDIDATE PROFILE
You must be a strong communicator of complex topics being able to reach stakeholders at all levels and truly enjoy facing the field and entering scientific discussions with health care professionals. You have a profound understanding of compliance and medical ethics, ability to navigate complex situations balancing SOPs, regulations, our values and business interests. You possess business acumen - establishing a holistic understanding of the ‘big picture’ (i.e. the organization, market, and industry) to effectively bridge the scientific and the commercial for the benefit of the patient. You are proactive with a solid scientific foundation and strong ethics.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
Advanced nursing degree, PharmD, MD or MSc +/- PhD in biomedical sciences or related degree in biological sciences
3+ years’ experience in a pharmaceutical environment
MSL experience preferred
A good understanding of clinical development and clinical study design
Experience of working in a cross-functional environment
Fluency in English and Danish
