Job Description

Overall purpose of the job:

To maximize patient and company product value through high scientific quality communication and engagement with Leading Specialists / Key Opinion Leaders on a peer-to-peer basis. Through activities in line with the Medical Affairs Plan, the Medical Affairs Manager is fully accountable for the realization of short-term and long-term company goals as defined in the franchise medical plan and employee KPIs.

To be a therapeutic area scientific expert, responsible for discussing our products, patients’ treatment trends and studies in the therapeutic areas in which we are involved, on a peer-to-peer basis with defined audience of Leading Specialists (Physicians, Pharmacists, Hospital Managers, Board Members of scientific societies, local authorities and other stakeholders) and to be considered a trusted scientific counterpart.

Collaborate and act as a proactive member of the Business Unit Team.

Provides comprehensive medical and scientific leadership for Takeda products in a specific therapeutic area within a local operating company (LOC). Primary responsibilities include designing, developing and executing to completion scientific education programs for health care professionals and patients associations in close collaboration with Patient Association Manager, Commercial Team, and offer collaborative support for commercial activities. In addition to project leadership, to be the owner of medical insights and analytics for the franchise team to embed into our plans the voice of the patients and their caregivers.

As appropriate for the LOC, responsibilities also include ensuring adherence to applicable internal procedures, local and European laws, codes and regulations.

  • Proven capability to manage projects with different stakeholders in an appropriate time

Other requirements:

  • University degree in Medicine (preferred) /Biology/Chemistry/Pharmacy
  • Preferably at least 5 years in Medical Affairs
  • Expertise in the local healthcare system
  • Fluency in both Romanian and English languages
  • High knowledge of the therapeutic area, strength in research and interpretation of medical data.
  • Relevant work experience, scientific acumen and communication skills to allow peer-to-peer relationship with Leading Specialists.
  • Highly customer focused with an awareness of the importance of business results.
  • Innovative with the ability to coordinate and drive a complex and changing environment.
  • Learning agility and flexibility among therapeutics area
  • Driver’s license mandatory
